This could be absolute carnage, I can't see the greens being kept at the speeds they are just now, and the rough will get thinned out a little. The members seem to think they slow the greens down for the US Open which means they must run at over 15 on the stimp normally! Surely reductions only? smile

Here's a link to some of the videos and photos.

Judging from that, I predict that rounds are going to take an hour longer than normal owing to the extra time players are going to need to wait for their balls to stop rolling on the greens! Best get some more beer in because it's going to be long nights in front of the tele.

Assuming you have Sky, there's a saturation of US Open coverage, around 36 hours over the 4 days finishing around 1am each night, so reckon we should be able to fit both in really. smile looking forward to watching their trials and tribulations, should be a right old challenge, as observed already.

I do indeed have Sky Sports. Maybe i'll convince her she's tired and needs an early night from tomorrow onwards..

Thanks for the heads up!

The course superintendent, his 200 staff(!) and the head agronomist of the PGA tour are onto it, adjustments are taking place and the greens will run slower before start of play

I'm with you on that Digger, no one said it was gonna be easy (in fact they said it's gonna be truly fking difficult) but they're doing what they can, while they can, to make it 'playable' for all

Can't wait thumbup

Anyone seen the video or Rory putting up the green to a practice hole position, only for it to roll over it and then trundle on down to the actual pin and drop in? Illustrates how tough the greens will be! I can only imagine what it would be like to play!

Indeed, but he never fills me with confidence during the final holes of a major. Would love Sergio to grab it, or even the world no 6xx Landry to hang on. Maybe even Day?!

I'm really enjoying Sky's coverage of the Golf but I can't understand why there are idiots in the crowd shouting "in the hole" or "shut the door" immediately after players have teed off.

What's the point, I don't get it. Haven't heard any similar but I've only just started watching Golf on the telly.

The course is a nightmare but I love it!

At least there's no "Mashed Potato" on the menu. . . so far! smile

I really hope he doesn't, but can see Landry fading away now. Would be a great shame!

I hope not too mate, he's a joy to watch. Really disappointed Westwood has had a bit of a mare too, love watching him play.
