Nice try Scotland

before the match the call from the pundits was the match to produce 50 points - not a bad shout.

I enjoyed that. Surprised at the performance of Scotland, away to Wales.

Yes. Perked up in the 2nd half and well done Scotland to make a decent fist of it. Although I must say I expected more from them after their world cup.

Unfortunately, we only have a decent starting XV.

Once we start making changes it all goes to st.

I think as DocJock intimates, with their first squad on the pitch they are a tough side to beat. They just don't have any depth at present. (Pains me to say it as LAidlaw's not a favourite of mine).

Can't see the point in having all the cameras and officials to still get duff decisions like the Welsh try.

The Ireland/France game was poor. Irish out of steam - can't see a hat trick for them now.

Wales look to be getting stronger and the rub is going their way at present...Their game against France will be a good one I suspect.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game (should have been there were it not for Valentine's day...).

Strength in depth is the strength of England but also gives them a problem. They don't have a first squad.

I reckon that if they picked a starting 15 and kept them turning out each time, and only replaced them for reasons of injury, then they'd be much stronger. Unlike the other 6N teams (with variations in depth) an injury would be of little account as someone just as good could be fed in.

The England/Italy match doesn't often get the heart racing but I thought the Italians played well last week. So it might be exciting. But England will be more concerned with not losing rather than winning.

England should beat Italy today, the defence was probably the best thing about last weeks performance so I don't see Italy scoring too many tries. I expect the fist 60 mins to be reasonably tight with Italy still lacking a place kicker with a high enough percentage to give them an edge or indeed keep them in a tight game.

I think England will pull away in the final quarter, Clifford, Itoje, and hopefully Jamie George all getting at least 20 mins running at a tired Italian pack.

Looking forward to it.

If England lost to Italy it would be a huge shock

I remember the idiotic ref on the Wales v Italy game. Wales given a penalty in front of the posts which would have drawn the game instead they asked the ref to check was there time to kick to touch and play the line out... Yes... So kick to touch ... Ref blew full time! tt.

Looks like the Italians forgot to clean the olive oil off their fingers before the match started!

After the first 30 mins, England are a try up. The backs seem willing to run. Lots of gains from individual runs.

Second rubbish line-out though.

England just settling in.

Italy playing with lots of confidence, probably from their recent good play.

Not the most exciting match though, but some good play from both sides. Garcia off but given how he's been playing for the last few minutes it is probably good news for the Italians.

And another duff line-out.

Not sure why a deliberate knee in the face by the Italian hooker should give them a penalty.

Italian 2 is a liability. Always offside and a couple of nasty digs. England need to sharpen up.

Trust me to jinx it saying they lack a place kicker to keep themselves in it.......

England being embarrassed at the breakdown and in the discipline department.

Looked OK when the phases have been built, backs a bit bunched together in attack, Ben Youngs is ste, I worry about Ford against stronger oppo, hopefully the try will help with his confidence but remain to be convinced he shouldn't return to Bath and find some form.

That's a charitable level of insight you're crediting him with Derek...
