With the price of fuel coming down how come we are not seeing the same price drops for other oil products?

Synthetic Engine oil is still expensive, are we likely to see a price drop?

I would guess that the price of the raw material is tiny, compared to the cost of refining it to the quality that modern manufacturers demand. Perhaps the cost will come down by 20p, if we're lucky.

Expensive?
It costs ~£20 for 5 litres - fully synth, long life, OEM compliant etc etc

I imagine the raw cost of crude oil is only a very small % of the manufacturing & marketing costs.

Yes, energy prices are dropping so why is it so expensive?

Refining costs, plus the cost of the additives.

Besides, when has anything evenly remotely linked to the price of crude oil gone down when the oil price drops?

Is that more expensive than expensive?

I can't even tell who's being serious any more.

You'll be expecting a pay drop soon then if everything comes down in price.

They charge what people will pay. I was amazed to find Mobil 1 oil cheaper in France (where most things are a lot more expensive) than here.

Even at $120/barrel, one litre of crude was only 75c. The cost of oil in oil is minimal.
