The decision is made now, but if the bowlers had been in the field a long time in extreme conditions and had a real grinding time, or some were carrying minor injuries then could understand, but think I'd have enforced the follow on tbh.
Daft decision. Really, really daft. The decision is made now, but if the bowlers had been in the field a long time in extreme conditions and had a real grinding time, or some were carrying minor injuries then could understand, but think I'd have enforced the follow on tbh.
Rain was forecast there for last couple of days, so there was going to be time to rest up then if needed.
Really do not understand this decision in the slightest. This could well be a draw snatched from the jaws of victory now. Dumb.

I wouldn't think so. Pakistan A could very easily turn up. Younis Khan is the type of person to pull out 250 from absolutely nowhere.
I'm confident they won't make the run total they need. I'm doubtful they'd have reached our first innings score across two innings tbh.The bigger problem now is that England have put themselves under a lot of time pressure to get the wickets they need. Pakistan only have to bat defensively and England will have thrown away a cast iron chance at levelling the series. A draw for Pakistan after the first innings will seem like a victory to them.
The only two reasons I can think of for batting are either to rest the bowlers...but then they've been declared fit and only bowled 63 overs thus far...or because we think Pakistan will pile on the runs...
They were 390 behind so how much of a lead could they reasonably have accumulated? They've only achieved that score at OldTrafford twice, and not for 15yrs...
And if we couldn't bowl them out in a day and a half, then what chance will we have in half a day less...
I hope Cook is proved right tomorrow, or he's in for some proper grief.
