Don't think there's a thread yet?

Amazing comeback from Leicester last night, and now a comeback that Quins really shouldn't have needed to make!

Bristol have certainly shown they're not going to be a London Welsh, but they really should've been out of sight at half time...

Regardless of the final score Quins look very poor - too many errors all over the pitch and their line outs are a joke! They seem to have thought as they are playing the new boys at Twickers this would be a walkover start to the season...big wakeup call.

Gutted for Gloucester but same issue of not finishing matches like last season.

We've just got back from a cracking afternoon at the Ricoh, where Wasps entertained the Chiefs.

Exeter had the first half all sewn up, with Wasps on the ropes for much of the half. It was Danny Cipriani's debut for Wasps and, frankly, he appeared to try to over play massively and ended up kicking far too many loose balls and losing possession too often.

The second half was much better for the Wasps fab and we ground Exeter down (something that is very rarely done) to close out a great 25 : 20 victory; Wasps' first time winning the first game of a season since 2011 nerd

100%. I think Bristol could have had that if Henson had stayed on. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of his but I think he'll do a great job there if he keeps his head & body straight.

Care in particular seemed asleep from kick off. Hopefully the cobwebs will go, but the thought of an injury to Evans or his likely retirement in the not too distant future gives me sleepless nights...Even with Jackson/Swiel on board.

There's a LOT of pressure on Cips and he did seem to try and overplay things to begin with - that being said he also did have a couple of lovely touches and I would imagine that as the team gels things will get better. I'm salivating thinking of Beale, Eastmond and le Roux still to come

Can't believe no updates!

Well my prediction re. Quins seems unfortunately to be coming home to roost: another poor performance and subsequent injuries and bans over the next few games...

With the predicted (usual) slump later in the year over 6N period and performances in the first two games so far I'm feeling uncomfortable already.

There's a long way to go yet, though.

quins have some real quality in the side, so I'd expect to see them upping the ante soon.

and TBF Mike Brown should be back next match so that may help.

Have to say that that Newcastle had really better buck their ideas up otherwise it'll be a long and painful season for them

I'm also not holding out much hope for Quins this year. I think Brown is well past his best, Care looked awful against Bristol, and in general they just seemed to have no direction. If they'd started out against any of last year's top 6, they would've been crucified. frown

So, with a thirteen week ban for biting (dirty, dirty bd!), can we finally hope with a degree of certainty that we'll never see that arrogant, show-boating tosser Ashton in an England shirt ever again?? woohoo

tbh it's a shame - he was a cracking finisher (ignoring the 'ash splash' - this would have cured that deficiency https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfLS51LSNFM) for England but should have been dropped when Johnno told him not to do it... and he did it anyway. I have to be honest and say that given the right service there are better than he out there (that being said why oh why isn't Wade in yet???)

The next three games against Sarcens(h) the Pests(a) and Saints(h) should see us bottom I reckon. Clifford out for ten weeks with an ankle injury and Evans absent I think we're not going to get any losing bonus points either. It's all gone horribly wrong.

Agreed - no wins from those three games.

And as for Stade Francais in the Cup......don't hold out much hope for that game either!

Indeed. How does a team with so many internationals in it manage to perform so poorly as a team together?

But maybe they'll wake up and stuff Sarries! One must always hope..

Ok, have to admit. I wasn't expecting Quins to be 10-0 up after 6 minutes!

Anyone actually at the game able to say if that's massively against the run of play?

Quins played exceptionally well in the first half to turn round 17-0 up.

Sarries came back in the second half to score 10 points. So they got a losing bonus point.

It was a good win that the Quins fully deserved - and was much needed!
