I'm a long term tiger's fan and my father in law has been a season ticket holder for a very very long time. In fact, my wife's entire family are all born and bred Tiger's fans and not one of us thinks he should have gone. As you say, despite not being at the very pinnacle of the league, we are still 5th and are still up to beating anyone.

Whilst everyone knows we're just not good enough right now, given his record and obvious knowledge of what makes a winning team it seems odd to get rid of him. I can only imagine that there is some sort of clash between him and the board because I do not believe that replacing him mid season is going to suddenly increase our performance, especially as the problem at the moment is inconsistency.

Having said all that, I'm happy to be wrong if it means we start playing better!

Part of the problem, I think, is that he's always come over as somewhat arrogant and unpleasant, and that has maybe come back to bite him. His attitude is one thing when they're winning all the time, but when the results aren't there, it rapidly sounds very hollow, and I could easily see the management losing confidence in him.

One point which to my mind really illustrated this was in his post match interview after the Munster game. Even he had to be humble after that sort of stuffing, but he just couldn't help himself in looking to lay off some of the blame by accusing their recent opponents in the Premiership of not pushing them hard enough.

If their recent Premiership results had been complete drubbings of the opposition, then his arrogant attitude might well have been justified, but their previous two Premiership outings saw them beat an out of sorts Northampton team by only 8 points at home and cough up a losing bonus point to Bristol, so hardly crushing victories for Tigers.

Yeah, I agree. I should perhaps add, I'm not fundamentally against replacing him in the long term, but I think the timing is pretty poor and I can't see how it will help deliver more consistency... unless of course the management are writing of the remainder of this season and (as someone further up the thread has said) they want to give Mauger half a season to get comfortable before starting over again next year.

Same problem that we are having at the Saints (I'm in my 24th season as a season ticket holder the coach can't take all the flack for players not producing on the field, number of butchered tries we've had with stupid handling isn't down to the way Jim has been coaching them, in fact in one post match interview he said they'd spent all week coaching a particular game plan and the players went out and did something completely different.

'Fans' have been calling for his head from almost the start of the season ( most I think are recent fans who haven't been around when we got relegated so are only used to the winning years) and reading tigers ultras page on Facebook over the last few days quite a few were saying the same of cockers (I think he was great, quite happy to say it as it is even it if gets him into trouble wink ) we've got you in the Anglo Welsh on the 28th so if you can wait until after that before you start playing well again that would be great smile

I think Malinder will be off at the end of the season unless things gets turned around. Northampton have been dreadful this year.

The big players have massively underperformed.

I'm a Bath fan - Picamole is probably the exception though for the Northampton players - sometimes he has looked to force it a bit though in the games i've seen.

meanwhile away from the hurly burly of the mid table and disappointed east midlanders - Worcester actually played a decent game of rugby. Not sure whether to be pleased or shocked,

Although what on earth is going on with Quins???

Yet to lose at home, yet to win on the road... I've got a season ticket with my youngest for the second half of the season, and there's every chance he'll not see them lose a match, yet still not make it into Europe!

Much to annoyance of my older brother who's a Quins season ticket holder. Of course, I do not take pleasure in it at all... hehe

Unless he's an away season ticket holder, they will have won every game he's been to this season, so he can't complain too much about value for money on that! smile

My youngest and I have our first (half) season ticket match this coming Saturday, which hasn't gone down too well, considering that it's also his older sister's birthday! hehe

Quins ST holder here as well. There must be something very wrong behind the scenes because the last 12mths have been abysmal given the squad we've got. The difference in Home/Away performance is pretty unfathomable though unless they are just not bothering to train every other week....

Last 12mths for Quins:
- Last Away win of any consequence: Bath 28 - Quins 38 31/10/2015
- Have lost every away game in the AP since 3rd Jan 2015 (exception: beat already relegated London Irish in May 2016)
- In calendar year 2016 beat Saracens at home twice
- This season undefeated at home vs Sarries, Bath, Worcs, Saints, Bristol, Glocs, Stade Francais
- Lost last weekend away to Worcester and were 21-0 down at one point, with starting 15 including 8 English, 1 Welsh and 1 Scots current internationals. Most abject performance since being thrashed at home by Exeter in the last match of last season!

Quins fans having huge fights on social and in forums about whether the new DOR John Kingston is to blame (who was promoted from Head Coach and was pretty poor as DOR last time he did it for a year) or its down to players just not giving a toss (many of whom are playing fantastically at international level so we know they can do it if they try.)

Personally i think that Conor O'Shea quitting last January - just after nearly the whole squad had signed new contracts to stay at the club - is when the wheels fell off and has caused a huge falling out behind the scenes. JK just doesn't seem to have the respect of the senior players and none of the players seem to fear reprimand for poor performance.

If we lose to Sale this Saturday fans will be screaming for a change of management....me included.

We all know who's on the market if it comes to a management change!

Would the arrogance come across as less arrogant if he was our DOR rather than someone else's do we think?

So how many red cards from tonight and over the weekend for 'high tackles'?

I'm against over sanitising but as the father of a lad who has been forced to give up the game he loves because of deliberate attacks to the head, I'm not so much in a cleft stick as sympathetic.

It is going to open up the runners.

I'll probably come to a conclusion after this weekend at my club. We've played clean rugby for years and been let down by referees who haven't penalised foul play. In talking to a fellow club member he reckons that we'll be penalised for something innocuous tomorrow.

will we see people ducking into tackles?

That's the concern, isn't it.

According to BT at the Falcons/Bath match much will depend on the intelligence and common sense of the referee and touch judges. In other words, much will be subjective. So nothing to worry about there with regards consistency.

There will be a settling-in period while the refs' chat amongst themselves and get it clear in their own minds.

Following the TV chat, I can see positives. I can also see the need.

Well, so far, "only" two yellows across the three Pro 12 matches and one in the Premiership.

That's an interesting result...

Newcastle by two, with George Ford missing four kicks!
