I know you shouldn't quote your own posts but it goes for yesterday's Sarries match against Exeter. What a cracker. I won't post spoilers ass well worth watching.

An exciting match, [strikethrough]at least[/strikethrough] especially towards the end.
Was it my imagination, or it might have been that I was just looking for it, but it seemed the tacking had changed as well as the rucks.
Was it over reaction from the players?
Again the tackling and rucks seemed different but not sure I could explain why I think this. I expected more passing on being tackled but that hasn't come yet.Was it my imagination, or it might have been that I was just looking for it, but it seemed the tacking had changed as well as the rucks.

What did you think to the red card? Should barritt have seen a card too? There was quite a few high tackle penalties in the Saints/Briz game but there was no cards from the ref, still seems to be a lot of interpretation as to what justifies a card

TBH I too thought that BB was exceedingly lucky to stay on - IMO it was similar to Hartley's 'swinging arm' a few back
As I said to my wife, 'They've both got to go. There can be no argument.' Indeed I thought the swinging as clear as the shoulder. It looked nasty. All the slow speed reviews merely convinced me I was right but by then the ref's comments suggested he was bottling it.
Not that I wanted either or both of them to go as it normally ruins the match. It didn't this time I know so glad one stayed on. But it showed the problem with the 'new interpretation'. Law changes that are not don't really help. It needs clarify in writing.
There were few, if any, spirited challenges for high balls I noticed.
In my club match on Saturday one of our backs ran out at the restart, got to where the ball was going to land, turned his back on the opposition and was pushed out of the way by their player holding his arms up in the air so as to miss the ball by not more that two feet. Slam dunk penalty I thought, and I was right, but awarded against us for obstruction (I think, the ref's signals were not clear). To be fair he was a stride offside, but in his defence, he was half a step behind the 11. But that was the only aerial challenge in our match. We lost 5:9, getting the ball over the line at 75 mins but the ref was on the wrong side so couldn't give it. Not a good day for us.

Poor old Haskell, 7 months out and manages 37 seconds before getting knocked out
I really felt sorry for him too, although I did find Dai Young's "It was an outstanding 35 seconds" comment amusing! https://twitter.com/jameshaskell/status/8181821227...

I do wish the Telegraph would put some explanations in their Premiership XV of the week article.
Having been at the Quins match, I'd love to know what Adam Jones and Tim Swiel did to warrant inclusion, or maybe just how poor everyone else's 10 was over the weekend?
To answer my own question, at least on Adam Jones, I hadn't realised he was only at the Stoop on Saturday as a last minute stand in for Graham Rowntree as forwards coach!Having been at the Quins match, I'd love to know what Adam Jones and Tim Swiel did to warrant inclusion, or maybe just how poor everyone else's 10 was over the weekend?
Marler pulled out just before kick off, putting him on the bench, and early injuries to Evans and Collier saw Jones playing over an hour on the wrong side of the scrum for the second time this season.
Has there ever been a greater inspiration to middle-aged fat knackers everywhere???

Bristol v Bath (not premiership I know). Whilst not the most exciting match of this season for the uncommitted viewer, there were some good tries. The one by Sensa was great. It looked on, despite the cover, from the moment he got the ball. The 15 phase attack by Bath was rather good. They should have gone for the points with the (3rd) penalty. Generous ref to Bristol. I wonder if he had given a card then whether the high tackle on behalf of Bath would also have got a yellow. A brilliant intercept from Cook for the final Bath try.
Massive victory.
Massive victory.
I'm on my way back from Quins vs Edinburgh with my youngest.
Quins were bloody poor, and the lineout in particular was dreadful, but I'd still like to see the faces of all the people who walked out with 10 minutes to go and a score of 6-23 when they find out the final score was 18-23!
Ruaridh Jackson's dropped goal conversion from almost on the side line to ensure there was enough time to (successfully) chase a losing bonus point with another try was simply amazing though!

Really enjoyed watching the Wasps game! A real tense match until the end and I bet Toulouse are kicking themselves for the easy try they conceded right through the middle and then lapse of concentration at the last minute with the try dive from the penalty in the dying seconds.
Quins....don't know what to say really, went to only my second match this season the other weekend and wasn't impressed, then the result yesterday at home!?! Throughout each game they just seem to completely switch off at times, from the beginning to the end, so tiredness not a factor. A big injury list doesn't help but I don't feel this is the main problem...
