Well I make Bangladesh favourites here out, scored at a fair clip too. Some of the bowling was disappointing.

To be fair I think most sides would struggle to bat against spin on these 2 pitches, even the Indians.

Bangladesh closing in on a win, found themselves a dangerous spinner in Mehedi.

Very enjoyable listening to both tests. Well done Bangladesh. They have someone special in their young spinner, will be interested seeing how he progresses. Fantastic for the country too.

As warm up matches this is actually what England needed, because it is going to be tough in India of course, so no false hopes.

India now know what sort of pitches they need to prepare to completely stuff us

Firstly fair play to England for going through with the tour (made of sterner stuff than the whingeing Aussies)

Not easy to play when you are under armed guard constantly and effectively locked in the hotel or the ground.

No warm up matcged in India means some tough calls for the selectors. Surely Ballance is gone 24 runs in four digs is village.

No Jimmy A, and some bit part trainee spinners is tough. We need a new top order line up and Root needs to work out how he intends to play the spinners. He needs to attack one or at least try to. Bangla didn't look all that when England put pressure on them at 100-0.

First test match tomorrow...19 year old Haseeb Hameed making his debut, best if luck to him.

Very tough opening match, hope he does well.

Well 31 isn't the worst opening from a debut bat.

Root seems to be in the groove, and we need at least 350 here to make this a match.

Steady work. I see young Cook is still in the "form of his life"

Anyway - YJB for a double hundred !

Indeed. Root as classy as always and Ali continuing his great form with the bat.

A very good first day and if England can push on from here and post a decent 1st innings score then it sets up an interesting match.

Probably likely to be the best day to bat on that pitch, so really important we made good use of it.

If Stokes bats like he can, then we could set an unreachable target
