Feel a little concerned about the press that Hameed is getting, Ok he knocked 82 and looked much more comfortable than Hales, but is so often that new players do OK, as no one has any video analysis of them, or hasn't bowled to them before or all kinds of things,

Ballance was the next great and for ten or so tests, he chugged away making half centuries and a few big ones, We thought had the Trott replacement.

Hameed has like 20 1st class games, and I really really hope he makes it and plays for 20 years and scores 15000+
But after one knock, to be calling him Baby Boycott and such like - far to much pressure far too soon.

Lets wait for 15 odd tests and a few green tops in May before we get with the judging.

Was a bad toss to lose, pitch will deteriorate quickly.

If we can keep them to low 400's we will still be ok, but reminiscent of Javed Miandad that is a fairly big butt at the moment.

If the pitch is breaking up then I can't see India enforcing the follow on. You wouldn't want to risk having to bat last on it.

Same here. It's about mental toughness from now on in.
