I didn't equate being seriously out of breath after riding up a big hill on a TT bike as a strange problem that I need to speak to a Doctor about
Neither do I.Look RichW, I don't know what your problem is, but I experienced EIA after my first IM. I didn't go to my doctors about that, I went to see him about the pneumonia I contracted 3 days after flying back. He asked was there anything else related that I could think of and I mentioned it.
Given I had experienced a severe bout of bronchitis (when I was 12) coupled with these events, he said it would be a sensible precaution to prescribe a salbutamol inhaler. He did say that the heavy respiratory load in 40ºC temperatures was probably the trigger (not that anyone would need a doctor to tell them that really).
I've never experienced problems since and I don't use the inhaler, although I would if it were necessary (Doc said that he himself used the inhaler if he felt a chest infection coming on as it would open up the alveoli and help prevent an environment developing where an infection could take hold).
I'm not sure why you have a problem with any of that? Do you think this means I condone drug use in sport as an aid to enhance performance? Do you know what my stance is wrt TUE's? When you've sobered up, could you let me know? Cheers!
Just to allay your concerns though, my pre-event training is just fine thanks.

Great find and truly hilarious - the 'British lap this sh*t up ' line is a classic. Brits also have an amazing sense of humor too Granfondo said:

Is every Pro cyclist on Kenacort?
No, just the Italians! Seriously though, we all know it's available through various loopholes via a TUE, this is professional sport, let's not assume that people aren't exploring every possible advantage to try and win. I've said it before, the problem is the TUE system, you can't blame people for exploiting it.
Exploiting a system put in place by the governing body, available to everyone else, still isn't cheating though. It's morally wrong, it's ethically wrong, I wholeheartedly agree with you, but it's just not cheating, I'm not sure which bit you're struggling with now.

The lies!
The no medical records kept!
The fact that Brailsford "did not know Kenacort was a PED"!
The timing of team banned injections!
But as the video said "you lap up this st"

I'm fairly sure "exploitation of the rules for performance gain" would count as cheating. As would "claiming rider is asthmatic with low testosterone levels and needs X, Y and Z to compete on a level playing field"Rich_W said:

I totally agree, but those performance gains are available to any other rider who may or may not suffer from low testoserone levels.... this is the point granfondo is consciously ignoring... so you have a rider from another team who has no history of EIA or low testosterone but gets the team doctor to submit the TUE, UCI approves it, he's now clear to take the same drugs and exploit the rules to gain a performance advantage, it can not be cheating if others can also do it. The fact is we know Wiggins and sky have exploited this loophole but to think no other team has is naive at best. The level playing field was clearly a barbed comment to the other teams to say we know you're doing this too, we're the ones who have to admit it though as a result of the data leak...
I really don't care though, I'd rather talk about actual racing. I'm tired of being falsely painted as a misty eyed team sky fan just so others can use it as a crutch for their hopeless arguments.

Well you'd be as wrong as about that as you were about me during your bizarre drunken rant the other evening. It's ethically and morally wrong and not good sportsmanship, but it's not cheating.
That's not me trying to condone Sky's conduct by the way, because I don't.

Who cares what anyone else has done.
Wiggins and Sky have sung to the hills about their clean ways and this that and the other, it has turned out to be anything but.
I think this sums up where I am with this whole debacle. It's not what happened or whether it was "within the rules". It's the whole approach Team Sky took that they were cleaner than clean but actually they were simply competing within the rules, which isn't the same to me.Wiggins and Sky have sung to the hills about their clean ways and this that and the other, it has turned out to be anything but.

One last time. it's only an issue if all the other teams are sat there now kicking their heels thinking I wish we'd thought of that, which they are not. Ever wondered why no one has defended Sky, or for the same matter, vocally chastising them, possibly because they are doing the same things but are grateful their medical data remains secret... I refer you to my first line. Who cares what anyone else is doing. Sky claimed to be the white knights, they're anything but, and its come down on them hard, and rightly so. Chatted pure st for years.dangerousB said:

I'm sure Armstrong would told people the same about this backdated TUE....okgo said:

Saying that other people are possibly cheating is not a defence.

So basically he's going to throw Sky under (their deathstar) bus and blame his cheating on sir Dave.Do love when people take responsibility for their own actions....

I'm guessing he is going to, as said above, chuck Sky under the wheels. It may be that he hasnt done anything, but the team havent been so squeaky clean. Maybe he is so annoyed he will blab and try to make out it wasnt his fault etc. Who knows eh.
I wonder if he'll say anything about Froome?
Interesting that he has already started with the comments about the marginal gains being nonsense.
