The players actually seem to thrive on the extra pressure and just play to an unbelievable standard.

I think it helps that many of us play ourselves and so realise just how flipping good they are.
Absolutely!

Whilst those of us who play weekend golf tremble over a 3 footer that might make us a couple of pounds, these guys seem o be invulnerable to the pressure.

They are incredibly good.

Rory there... knocks in a 12 footer to half the hole... simply rock solid mentally.

Just watching a bit of this and I'm amazed that the mongs are allowed to chant U-S-A while the European players are driving off. NOt so many year s ago someone would ask them for a bit of quiet at the start of each hole. eek

Agreed RichB, but I am impressed by how the USA vice captains (e.g. Bubba) have dived in to calm matters.
Either way, great golf, great theatre.

American golf fans aren't unlike English football fans... the 'you-es-ay' chants sound very similar to 'in-gur-land'.

Equally as ignorant.

After a strong start, things are heading the USA's way at the moment (with the exception of the Mcilroy match).

Kind of irrelevant, football supporters have always shouted, sung and cheered whereas I assumed that any chanting and barracking in Ryder Cup golf would be done after the stroke had been played. These morons are actually chanting as the Europeans are driving off.

ETA, maybe it was the mongs in the stand at the previous green that I could hear if they were very close to the next tee.

Just the 383 yards off the tee for McIroy!

Mind you, he's just carved one out of bounds, so maybe he's not that good after all!

Europe aren't getting much luck on the greens.

The European putting has been nothing short of diabolical. They have been murdered on the greens this afternoon in the four balls

The American's have missed very few inside 10ft (and have holed a few speculative 30+ footers).

Think Clarke missed a trick today not playing Wood in the fourballs . Kaymer has been all at sea this afternoon and he was shocking yesterday.

Westward addresses the ball.

That just sums Europe up there on the 17th, first American dumps it in the water and Willet and Westwood both can't make a par from 20 feet. You would be disappointed if you at a club player if they did that let alone two Ryder cup players

Game over! Shocking from Westwood, why not putt before Willet and take all the pressure off.

Westwood you loser. That might cost the cup I think.

Two short puts in two holes. Useless.

No wonder he's never won a major.
