Are you a massive Taylormade fan? I can't imagine why anyone would pay that much for seven irons.

The Apex Pro are amazing (friend has them). I'd certainly check them out as a players cavity, look amazing, feel unbelievable.
First lesson earlier this week after a fairly long lay off due to a back injury. My trip to TM at Wentworth is only 2 weeks away, so need to get in some extra practice before then. Having said that, I was hitting it well at the range so hopefully will be well-placed to get a good assessment of what will work best for me.

As before, even if i decide to retain the bulk of my set-up, I do need to revise my wedges to close the gaps I have there, probably at the expense of my 5-wood.

I had a full fitting at Wentworth 2 years ago now. Don't be scared to ask for a discount on the prices offered. I ordered 13 clubs in the end and they took off 10%. Do make sure you are quite specific with your order though, I ended up with a white R15 TP when I ordered a black one. They were happy to have another sent out to me. It's a good day and certainly interesting to see which clubs and shafts work best for you! Enjoy smile

Played my first round in months on Saturday, very hungover but surprisingly i hit 90..which i was happy with. Playing off 12 that sounds like a bad day at the office, but I've never putted so badly in my life. Managed 46 putts, 46! I'm usually around the 36 mark so 46 was quite comical. There were even a couple of 4 putts in there. Best moment of the day for me was by far my 7 iron from 181 of Bushnells finest yards on the 16th though (albeit downwind wink). Arrow straight & rolled up to the hole and lipped out & finished an inch away, never been so close to holing out from that kind of distance before! Can't wait for the next round!

Good work!

I shot 86 yesterday which I was happy with - only really played twice in 6 weeks so a bit rusty. Hit some lovely shots with my new hybrids. Putted really well.

Not bad for playing twice in 6 weeks! Hopefully we get some more warm weather. Today is perfect for 18 holes!

Shot a 74 yesterday. Good enough to get 9th... I really need to stop playing in winter comps, I would have needed to shoot 2 under gross to get in the top3.

Good effort JamesNotJim. 20 of us went for a two-day jaunt to St Pierre Chepstow the weekend before last. Old Course was interesting and well kept but many of the greens had the same lurgy as our local course which was a shame. Freezing on the first day, not helped by our group having to wait for over an hour at the 10th for a Ladies event to tee off. Still, somehow managed to get the longest drive of the day with my new Cleveland 588. New clubs went well, 26 points on day 1 and 30 on day 2, but the new putter didn't solve my woes in that department. Finding green life very frustrating. Need to put in some serious practice to find a technique that works.

Went out for 9 on Saturday morning to try out the new bag and putter. Considering I bought the putter a month ago, Saturday was the first time I'd tried it on real greens - it's an Odyysey Works Versa #9 and it was very impressive - holed a couple of 10 footers, and it was fantastic on long putts - had a couple of 40 footers I left a foot away, so very impressive. The bag was awesome too, more pockets and stuff than my old Nike Vapor Superlight, yet the Sun Mountain was actually lighter.

Ended up shooting 37 for 2 over, with a lost ball on the 2nd.

Anyone here played Tiverton ?

We're got a long weekend at Saunton & Royal North Devon this September and a few of us have booked Tiverton for a friendly pre-tour knockaround.

Be interested to hear what it's like and what to expect.

Wish I was out today instead of yesterday, we were the only six on the course, lost count of the number of times I had to put my trolley back on its wheels!

I went to St. Georges in 2011.

And we should be invited to marshall in 2020, can't wait! Now I play there every year it'll be nice to see the pros tackle it.

I'll be playing on Sunday.
