A nice little summary video here for Jim and his driver

Sums things up quite well I think.

From a golfing perspective, I'm quite surprised he (and Rory for that matter) didn't go back to Titleist, but add in the rumours of Tiger buying TM it does sort of make sense. He did use an R510 driver back when Nike woods were a bit dodgy mind.
Must admit since they anounced they were pulling out of clubs and balls, I may have completed the Nike club collection, but any apparel I've bought has come from somewhere else. Mostly Under Armour if I'm honest. I'll be needing a new bag and shoes before the start of the season, the golf bag will probably be Sun Mountain or Ping, not sure aout the shoes yet.
I have got carried away on the ball front however. Now have 5 dozen RZN Platinum, and 4 Dozen RZN Black.
And now the OH has banned me from American Golf

Tiger is back (properly) today! Can't wait to see him amongst the big boys again, it's great for golf and I personaly think he will win a few again!
Anyone else think he seems to be embracing fans more on social media etc? He's always been distant and reserved (understandably) but now he looks so much more relaxed and enjoying himself!

TM clubs with Nike apparel will look strange :-/.
The M series woods must be amazing, Rory switched to them straight away too.
Have you seen the rumour that Tiger has bought a large stake in TM?
That rumour has developed slightly. Apparently it isn't Tiger buying TM, but Nike themselves. The M series woods must be amazing, Rory switched to them straight away too.

Not entirely sure I believe that one mind....
Good thread this, and some excellent advice regarding club selection. And I'll add to the people your swing looks tidy SteveS - liking the drawing ball flight too.
Woldingham is a decent course, played there a few times, and the deal including The Addington seemed good value when I looked at it a couple of years ago - really like that course. In keeping with the recent posts The Addington in particular is a course where club selection is really important - irons/hybrids for position are often the order of the day, and your short game has to be "on" as well.

Decided to get back into golf after not playing for about 2 years. Joined a new club on Wednesday got my first game tomorrow and hopefully find some members who'll mark my card to get a handicap.
Used to play off 11 so expecting the handicap to be about 15-18, can't wait for the season to start!

He looked to be getting stuck again. Swing looked better last tournament he played.
It's frustrating to watch, nothing has changed when it comes to his long game, it's horrific if we're honest. He's easily good enough to sort it, bit will he ever be able to in tournament conditions?
Had a nightmare game today, so cold and felt totally stiff and uncoordinated.
Good news though, my natural slice was replaced by a horrendous hook on some holes and my normal fairly consistent irons were replaced by many thin or top shots. This game is so frustrating at times
I think hitting a couple of fat shots on solid frozen ground made me go too far the other way and it was all downhill from there.
Still better than spending the day indoors and the frozen ground gave us some good laughs with random bouncing sending nice shots pinging off in all directions.

Yes, another frustrating weekend trying to play. Went down on Saturday lunchtim for a game with my dad's old cronies - course was reasonably dry to begin with, although we were on winter greens which took the edge off the enjoyment a little. Still, battled round and had 28 points after 13 and was starting to play well (after spending the first 6 holes topping everything off the tee), then the heavans opened and we walked in.
Course was closed on Sunday, so back to the range it was :| Although i was rooting around in the garage and found an old Powerbilt Persimmon driver from 1991, so took that down for a laugh - gotta admit, when you caught it out the middle it went like an absolute rocket, it was the off centre hits that caused the issue. Felt immense however, and might leave it in the boot as a practice aid.
Still, lesson tonight and then off to California on Friday, where hopefully we can squeeze in a game in some slightly better weather....

Played at Cleveland Golf Links yesterday. A little gem of a course with the best winter weather I've had in years.
No frost in sight, so full course with greens running at 12! (in winter!! was a little shocked to say the least). Shot 36 points, but played all the par3's rubbish, apart from the 1st.
Will be heading back during the summer I hope, greens can't get that much quicker surely?
