If a team can only stick 50 points on Germany I don't see them causing any of the five nations any significant problems. As stated above, they'd just get relegated after a year and Italy would be in, ad infinitum

This would be the same Georgia that beat Fiji, Samoa and Tonga last year, would it?If a team can only stick 50 points on Germany I don't see them causing any of the five nations any significant problems. As stated above, they'd just get relegated after a year and Italy would be in, ad infinitum
If you take a look at how the world rankings work, you'll realise that for Georgia to make it to two places above Italy is nigh on miraculous!
Italy almost only ever play teams well above them in the rankings, so they generally don't lose points for losing, and can gain significant points if they do manage a win.
Georgia, on the other hand rarely get to play anyone except teams well below them in the rankings, so the opposite is true. Winning does absolutely nothing to move them up the rankings, but if anyone below them does beat the them, they lose plenty of rankings points.
Ask yourself this... How long do you think Italy will be able to maintain their place in the Six Nations once Parisse retires? How many of the others can you even name? With the Bergamasco brothers, Diego Dominguez and Martin Castrogiovanni all gone, I'm struggling to come up with another without resorting to Google!

Without resorting to Google, Luke McLean, Tomasso Allen, Venditi, Campagnaro and Cittadini. Of course, being able to name them and them being any good are 2 different things although I do rate Campagnaro. If you take a look at how the world rankings work, you'll realise that for Georgia to make it to two places above Italy is nigh on miraculous!

So if Germany beat Romania, and Romania are supposedly the second most powerful team in that second tier of European rugby nations, what do you think will happen when Italy play them?Answer: They win that competition, and are promoted straight back into the 6N
There's no satisfactory answer to this other than help the Italians improve their structures. Georgia benefit from a billionaire leader who has built a training infrastructure that would embarrass the All Blacks, according to the Kiwi Georgia coach Milton Craig. Which means that if they are as good as all of you think they are, then Scotland, Wales or France get relegated in their place. If they're not as good as you think they are, then back down they go and back up come Italy, only to be relegated again the following year. Rinse and repeat
Alternatively you could just kick Italy out and replace them with Georgia. Except of course that's not how sport should work. And how does that help grow a rugby country that according to O'Shea, has plenty of extremely talented players? (Italy U20s lost by a single point to their Irish counterparts last week). It doesn't. It contracts it. Romania were beating France in the 1990s and now look at them. You actually want the same thing to happen to Italy? Bizarre.
These boys don't look much happier. Except for Jamie George who looks like he still can't believe he's been selected to play for England!

Some interesting games this weekend (aside from England/Italy that is).
Putting what I reckon will be the scores into the rankings calculator shows some big changes.

If France beat Ireland and Scotland beat Wales then France are up to 4th and Wales down to 8th .....it's all possible...
If England win though then....errr..nothing happens..
Have a punt and see what you think.

The potentially most significant fixture of the whole of the rest of the Six Nations is Italy vs France to my mind.Putting what I reckon will be the scores into the rankings calculator shows some big changes.

If the French slip up in Rome, they would drop below Argentina, and into the third level of the RWC draw. You could potentially end up with a group including New Zealand, Ireland and France!!

Bloody hell, they're a miserable looking bunch, aren't they? Alun Wyn in particular looks like the photographer has just started buggering a granny in front of him or something!Scotland XV to beat Wales
Still neither Dickinson or Nel in the front row, which is where I think Wales will target Scotland. If it's a fast flowing game, it'll play into the hands of the Scottish backs and loose forwards. Should certainly be an interesting encounter, if Scotland can play their game then Scotland by 10. If Wales drag Scotland into an arm wrestle then Wales by between 1-6 points.

For the record, on the eighteen occasions that the Six Nations has been played, Italy have finished last just eight times.
France have finished last once, 2013.
Wales have finished last twice, 2003 and 2007.
Scotland have finished last five times, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2015.

Wales once (2003).
France once (2013).
Scotland four times (2004, 2007, 2012, 2015).
Italy eleven times.
Hopefully that adds up to 17.
