Very frustrating from an English perspective.
Mike Brown managed to play the entire championship without passing the ball...
I think England were fantastic against Scotland but haven't been that impressive in the other matches. Mike Brown managed to play the entire championship without passing the ball...
This six nations has been much more open than it has been for years. The results suggest England have walked it, especially combined with the record run and back to back championships but I think there's been some lucky escapes along the way.
Light years ahead of where they were in the World Cup though.

Three pretty terrible matches to wrap it up. Absolutely shocking from England, though it's always harder for us as you can guarantee that every single team will play their best game against England.
Well thats a load of rubbish. You would see B teams out on the field if that was the caseDerek Smith said:
I'm watching the England match with friends but saw the Wales game at home. I had to miss the last 10 mins. When I saw my mates they all reckoned that France should have been given a penalty try. Cheating by Wales is what I'm being told. What is the point of a yellow for a penalty inside 1m from the line in the last minute.
Given the number of penalties Barnes gave he definitely should have given a penalty try. That said, I couldn't see what half of the penalties he gave were for and the penalties don't consist of cheating any more than any other penalty at any other point in the game.Barnes had probably the worst refereeing performance I have ever seen and totally lost control of the match at the end.
Davies should have been yellowed for the deliberate knock on but, I think Halfpenny's was a little different as he had already made contact in the tackle when he made contact with the ball.
Barnes got countless other decisions wrong including penalising Wales at scrum after scrum when it was actually the French infringing (as Brian Moore pointed out in commentary) simply because he thought France were on top. Would they have been so dominant in the scrums if they weren't infringing?
A terrible final weekend for the championship tbh. It's got to be time Italy were faced with relegation from the competition, they are simply not good enough to genuinely compete.
Still, congratulations England, back to back championships and hard to argue they are the best NH side at the moment.

Ireland don't give a fk where they come in a competition as long as they beat England. They'll treat this victory like they won the World Cup. Anyway, they did deserve to win this game- England were nowhere.
Almost spot on....maybe a few years ago, we now have a few notions about ourselves though and actually target competitions as something to win. hornetrider said:

Wales finish 5th in the championship.
This is the key point the WRU should take from this car crash of a championship. Alas. I'll bet a tenner now that Howler is a shoe in.

I back from my friends.
Despite the histrionics from the English in the group, and the preening of the Welsh chap (his team finished 5th!), I think it was a good 6N for England. We won. Not only that, we've only just come to the end of the longest winning streak.
It would have been nice to get a Grand Slam. It would have been even nicer to continue with the winning streak, but nice doesn't always happen. One thing is true:
It was always going to end sometime and so we move on.
Every team has an off day. It is a team game and that makes it difficult to gell each and every match. The record is a remarkable achievement, and one the players and coach should be proud of. I've followed two club rugby teams in my time, and followed England, and to an extent Ireland, for yonks and there have been any number of times when 'my' teams have played below their best for no apparent reason.
Ireland played a canny game and deserved to win, but they were only a converted try from losing. It could easily have gone the other way. But it didn't.
To put it simply: that's rugby.
Well played Ireland. Well played England over so many matches.
When's the next match?
