Well said Derek.
As a neutral I thought the end of the Wales game was tremendous fun. Highly entertaining. And the crowd certainly got their moneys worth.

A terrible final weekend for the championship tbh. It's got to be time Italy were faced with relegation from the competition, they are simply not good enough to genuinely compete.
as was pointed out though - when France first joined they were actually worse and Scotland have had periods where they've been worse

Hence why I'm sure you noted that I stated relegation and not expulsion.

Admittedly, I did state Italy where what I really meant was 'The worst side in the competition each year', it happens that that has been Italy on 12 out of 18 occasions so I did incorrectly conflate the two.

The commentator of the Scotland vs Italy game had a suggestion that instead of the more traditional straight promotion/relegation from the second tier competition there should be a play-off between last in the 6N and first in the second tier for the right to play in the following years 6N.

Good idea in my view.

Agreed, but over two games, home and away for both teams with weighted points. Would be great a extra two games to round off the 6 nations.

Fantastic performance from the Men in Green yesterday...haven't looked anything like that good yesterday. Their back row were just fantastic and absolutely dominated the break down...stopped Billy V in his tracks every time. Harsh to single him out maybe but I think that end's Haskell's chances of going on tour with The Lions.

Jerry has my team apart from I'd pick Webb.

And I'm wavering over CJ. Oh wait I'd have Launchbury not Kruis.

Te'o over Farrell at 12?

Watched the show they had on bbc2 last night and I am pretty sure thy name different teams than these ones?!

I may have been delirious with man flu though!

I'd go with Farrell personally, but given the style Gatland likes to play, I wouldn't be surprised if he went for Teo or Henshaw (or even Roberts!).

What on earth are weighted points? More to the point, why on earth complicate matters so much?

If the winner of the tier 2 competition is good enough to beat the last-placed team in the Six Nations on that team's own ground, then they're probably good enough to be in the Six Nations the following year. If they can't, then they're probably not. Why make it more complicated than that?

Missed that. No I'd probably pick Farrell as well.

The ones there that I'd 100% agree with are Hogg, Billy V, Launchbury, Farrell, Sexton, Joseph, Stander and Furlong.

Have Ken Owens or even AWJ done enough in a poor-playing, poorly managed Wales team to secure a place? I certainly didn't think George North did, purely on the back of a single decent performance.

I'd rather see 1/2p ahead of Hogg. And Daly too although I appreciate that's a tougher sell.

I'd struggle to leave Itoje out too, I heard Guscott say he'd want him as an impact player from the bench but I'm not sure his fitness has been seen wanting, in which case why not have him on from the start?

I guess a lot comes down to the type of game Gatland wants to play.

Ken Owens had a good tournament and there a real lack of options at hooker so he probably goes as one of the 3.

AWJ is definitely going as one of the locks. He was outstanding against England and Ireland.

North will go as he's a genetic freak and Gatland loves athletes.

I think we'll see a very South African style Lions this time as Gatland attempts to pound the ABs into submission. Might work for a scratch side too.

My XV:

Hogg
Watson
Joseph
Farrell
North
Ford
Murray

B. Vunipola
Stander
Warburton (c)
Itoje
Launchbury
Furlong
Owens
M. Vunipola

Replacements:
Daley
Tuilagi if ever fit again
Webb
Faletau
AWJ
Healy
Best/George
Nel
