Heaslip is a show pony. Moriati all day.
That,s absolute tosh. Both are excellent in that position.
Moriati was very good last weekend and ok this weekend. Heaslip isn't all round solid,as he was today.

Lots of commentator talk about Lions candidates but having watched every 6N game so far there seem to be a great many candidates for the touring squad, so much so that I should think the personalities and better character combinations would lend themselves to a better chance of winning matches than simple individual talent assessments alone.
It should, of course, always be thus but whether Gatland has the breadth of character knowledge outside the Welsh squad remains a question. One would hope he would consult with Joe, Eddie et al to form a consensus of those who would thoroughly embrace being a Lion, even to the point of just knowing they might only be a squad and not first team member... and the sheer importance that those roles hold to the squad as a whole.

I've got raging man-flu but I'll be at Twickers, later, for what I hope will be a record win!
As for the Lions, can we rule out Haskell from the back row and will Billy be fit?
I'm not sure anyone else from the home nations would have been a match for him in the Autumn internationals. Today may not be a huge test for him but with Parise on the field, maybe it will...

I agree with this: the Lions won't want for either talent or experience and should travel with great depth and a nice set of options such that I'm not as worried about individual's fitness as I have been for previous tours. The two things that will be crucial in the tests will be leadership and coaching. For the former I think there's a case for starting (most of?) the 4 nations captains plus Warburton (as test captain). Add in, say, Farrell and Sexton and then you've got a great set of leaders. For the latter, I just hope that Gatland builds on his previous experience: more of the same is definitely NOT required. Howley could be a problem. It should, of course, always be thus but whether Gatland has the breadth of character knowledge outside the Welsh squad remains a question. I have to say currently I'm fearful that we might have a Lions squad and specifically 1st team without many or any players!AWJ I'd say however is probably the best or top 3 second rows in the world.
Halfpenny must get a look-in at 15, after Hogg?
Wales back row in with a shout (all of them), AWJ etc.
Can see North and Williams in contention for the wings.
I actually think the Lions squad will be pretty difficult to pick. England may be the home team getting the wins but there are some real stand-out players on othe teams.
I was actually wondering whether Ireland may be unusually poorly represented, despite beating the ABs not so long ago!

We were in the bar of the Wales team hotel last night. Ross Moriarty is bloody huge, AWJ had a face like thunder and Samson Lee was really friendly.
I'm 6'2"+, I'm big in other ways as well.(!) I've been around a few premiership rugby players and the feeling I get is of being so small. Even scrum halves are at big as me.I had to take something to the Samoan team when they were in a Brighton hotel. I was dwarfed. The chap I was after, a prop, stood up as I approached - all the ones I spoke with were extremely polite and friendly, at least off the pitch - and he took the chair with him.
One of their coaches came over to thank me and he was bigger than the prop.
Very pleasant, polite and scary lads.
