Love these rugby threads, the first 50% of posts are all about what booze is being comsumed
When you see a back sneaking undefended into the line out, you really need to wake up and consider what the fvck you are actually on the field for.
Scotland's defense was mighty. Ireland came out for the second half doing exactly what I said they would do, play the forwards through the middle, and it worked to a degree.
Rory Best summed it up very honestly in a post match interview - 'We were naive coming into this match...'
Scotland were all over Ireland in the middle of the field and owned the wings.
A great match that Scotland thoroughly deserved to win, and it just goes to show how hard it is to win a game of rugby at that level.
At half time I was of the opinion that Ireland would come out with a different game plan, but I almost expected Scotland to win by 20+ points.

Obviously Sexton is a huge loss, but I've a feeling it's something we will have to get used to. We (Ireland) however look like a team that thought we only had to turn up and Scotland would roll over. So far only one team looks like they 'want' it.
Completely agree - having just watched the match in real Irish pub. Ireland were no where in the first half, even our local under 11s have better shape and comittment - it was almost embarrassing.
