Was that a KO gimme? Ali goes all the way through to the last seconds of the 10th, gets knocked down, flounders about then jumps up after the count seemingly full of energy?
I would say the ref has helped Joyce's comeback there for sure. Bloody boxing honestly it is so corrupt it's hard to love at times.fridaypassion said:

Every one knows you get up at the count of 8. It looked to me as though he didn't fancy it and I wasn't looking into his eyes like the ref would have done.Just watched the replay he was up. He's not an inexperienced fighter should have been allowed to carry on I reckon. There's no way the ref isn't influenced here. If it had been the other way around Joyce would have got a 20 count and carried on. It's the narrative they needed and they got it.

The script was clearly for Joe to make a big KO statement but Ali was just very hard to hit. To my eye he got up right in between 8 and 9 was full on his feet at 10 and the ref just waved it off. Low level corruption in the grand scheme but yet another quite obvious dodgy decision to get the narrative (almost) right.
I just watched it again and did what I thought would be a reasonable count and you are right it did feel a bit short to me. I can only think that the way he was splayed on the canvas and let his head drop back that the ref had made his mind up at that point.
If the fight had been in the US he would have probably been given the benefit of the doubt.

I saw that, I am sure that was not in the plans. But could be a good fight.
Does anyone think that Dillan Whyte will do much now. All that inactivity and the loss to Fury, It looks like its all passed him by. He had some enjoyable fights back in the day
Maybe a fight with ngannou, or Zhang? Does anyone think that Dillan Whyte will do much now. All that inactivity and the loss to Fury, It looks like its all passed him by. He had some enjoyable fights back in the day

He had a good career and made decent money with his limitations.Does anyone think that Dillan Whyte will do much now. All that inactivity and the loss to Fury, It looks like its all passed him by. He had some enjoyable fights back in the day
No disgrace to achieve what he achieved but was never going to be world champion even in the era we are in

I can remember many touting him as Fury's hardest fight and tipping him for an upset. Crazy really, an entertaining but limited brawler. I've loved watching him over the years, love his attitude to fighting anyone, but his best years are long gone. He might make a good gatekeeper for the new generation. Him v Joyce, or Wilder would be entertaining but I'd take the similarly limited Zhang, or Dubois; who I still rate, to put his lights out.
I think you guys are right, but as you said, he was entertaining fighterHim vs Joyce would be fun as suggested. Do not see Wilder fighting again. He looked so confused and out of sorts vs Parker
