Struggling at the moment - been off the course for nearly an month with a foot issue. Although I'm still waiting on the MRI I decided to play my knockout match yesterday.

Turns out I can't sewing/load up and release due to the foot (my left). This then meant I had an "all arms" swing/I had no clue on yardages etc.

Needless to say, although the match was close I lost down 18 after shooting 1.5x my handicap. I then had to help family shift furniture. Good news is my foot isn't falling any different (still bad but no worse), bad news is my ankle has given up the ghost. Looks like I'll have to take next weekend off the course at this rate frown
Did you strap it? Might help?

Didn't unfortunately, mainly because it's (well it was) the metatarsals in the foot only (pes cavus bilaterally says the consultant, I have no idea what that is). Issue is my ankle is now goosed, hopefully that'll loosen up soon!

I'm playing the Oxfordshire tomorrow. (£25 bargain).

My playing partner has played it a few times and has advised me to take plenty of balls. Looking at the course, water does appear to be quite plentiful. We are praying the weather holds out, I'm sure it will be a bit chilly but I could do without more water!

I'm sure it's a well trodden path, any suggestions?

It's a cracking golf course imo, a long walk though, and hilly with it.

The water makes for some spectacular holes, however it's not that hard to avoid, if playing the yellow tees, if you're sensible. Having saud that, I wouldn't want to play the tips on some of the par 3s!

Thanks, as you probably are aware or thought, I don't hit it very far but quite straight, so I'll be wearing the sensible hat. I guess a 22 handicapper, if I bothered with getting one. There's actually 3 of us playing. Player #3 is also a work colleague, an ex Sunshine Tour player - carries 300 yards, there are no dog legs on any course for him biggrin Always great watching him

Very hilly (man-made)

I did a corporate day there when it was 35c, that was deeply unpleasant hehe
Nice place though, greens were good and not too tough from the yellow tees

Anyone played Diss south of Norwich? It’s a reciprocal at my club long way from me but it’s heathland ideal for a wet spring
A few days late here, but I have. I live about 15 minutes away.

It’s decent enough, and has some relatively interesting holes. My overriding memory is of small greens.

How far away are you? I’m not sure I’d drive too far to play it.

Peterborough so a fair way, think it’s a James braid thing none of my reciprocals are that close.

My course Milton still has 5 temps so still haven’t played at all..getting full use of the practise area though

I’m currently a member at Royal Norwich. I’m off work next week, so if you can make Wednesday or Thursday and fancy a drive of about 1:30 or so it’ll be a £40 guest fee.

No, but I have plenty of colleagues who do!
Accent or not he went round the Oxfordshire at level par yesterday afternoon. Admittedly off the yellow tees but it was impressive. There was no run on the fairways, even my feeble drives were getting plugged.
I can understand why some reviews claim it's an uninspiring course. But a wet afternoon in March is probably not a fair verdict.

I expect it was saturated but you can't sniff at 25 quid for 18 holes there as I've heard its a decent enough track.
