That was probably the strongest wind I've ever played in.
3 club wind at times, but nice to get out and finished with a birdie
Also picked up my new 3 wood, TSR2+ (slightly deeper face compared to a standard 3w). Initial impressions are favourable..should be the bag set for 2024...
Hold on a minute folks we feeling alright? Someone has posted new shiny and no comments in 24 hours? 3 club wind at times, but nice to get out and finished with a birdie

Will admit I have been looking at these and could be mighty tempted, you'll have to let us know how you get on with it. What shaft did you go for?
Bit of a double post but just had a very pleasant 9 at The Chase, and it couldn't have been a bigger contrast to Stone on Wednesday. It was still a little muddy but very playable, and other than slightly bobbly greens it was in great condition for the recent weather.
Played pretty well, finishing 5 over which was bang in line with handicap. Definitely need more course time as I 3 putted a couple of greens and my short game wasn't quite there, struck it really well though.
Could be very tempted to play the bulk of my golf down here this season....

First round yesterday after picking it up 10 mins before my tee time.
Couldn't miss with it. We're still on preferred lies so that helps.
Primarily purchased for specific tee shots and it delivered on those admirably. Little more confidence with the deeper face and I've always got the 5w for when the lie isn't super.
Bag for 2024
Rogue ST Max
TSR2+ 3w @ 14.5°
TSR2 5w @ 18°
Ping G430 4h @ 22°
Ping i230 5-GW
Ping Glide 4.0 58°
Vokey SM9 58 K (14°)
Odyssey 12s

If it breaks one of these TSR2+ will be top of the list to replace it.

Well I played my first round Thursday in 16 years. Not very good, a few decent hits, even parred a hole! But actually still had some fun.
I played with a couple of guys who were fairly regular players. Not a lot between us. Interestingly my 30yo Callaway woods were consistently out hitting them for distance despite them having fairly modern clubs. I even remembered how sweet my Cleveland TA3s feel when hit half decently. Cracking set of clubs

Great looking bag RayD, sorry, I read your 3w post at the time, but didn't have time to reply.
It looks a serious weapon that 3w, especially for runout in the summer?
Should be. My home course isn't particularly long but requires you to be in the 'right' place. The greens are small so you need to have the right angle in for your 2nd..It looks a serious weapon that 3w, especially for runout in the summer?
Had quite the golfing week this week - played 4 times on 3 different courses. Carried on all of them and i’m knackered!
Played my first ever competition matchplay game today in the scratch cup - won 10&8. Game is definitely feeling good.
There are definite signs of improvement in the conditions of the courses played - I know there is a bit more rain this week but looks like things are looking up. Are you guys seeing the same? And clocks go forward next weekend so evening golf coming into play.

Big fan of the Tensei Blue here too.
I’ve got one in my driver and 4 wood.
Tempted to replace my Sim Max 4 wood with a TSi/r 16.5°
Just a solid shaft. A playing partner has the white version in TX version which is ridiculous I’ve got one in my driver and 4 wood.

10&8, bloody hell, feel sorry for your opponent, but well played indeed Played my first ever competition matchplay game today in the scratch cup - won 10&8. Game is definitely feeling good.

Strange old game.
Last week I hit the ball really well but shot 82. Yesterday I slapped it round in a gale, putted awful and shot 79.
I think I used the middle of my driver once, pulled or slightly thinned every iron, duffed a chip 12” thinned one through the back from 10 yards, I lost count of the number of shots hit with mud on the ball but somehow broke 80. I did hit my 4 wood really well the 3 times I hit it

Struggling at the moment - been off the course for nearly an month with a foot issue. Although I'm still waiting on the MRI I decided to play my knockout match yesterday.
Turns out I can't sewing/load up and release due to the foot (my left). This then meant I had an "all arms" swing/I had no clue on yardages etc.
Needless to say, although the match was close I lost down 18 after shooting 1.5x my handicap. I then had to help family shift furniture. Good news is my foot isn't falling any different (still bad but no worse), bad news is my ankle has given up the ghost. Looks like I'll have to take next weekend off the course at this rate

He actually played ok with bogey golf - unfortunately I played par golf. Except 1 hole which I doubled and he trebled.
Playing a very low HCP player in the next round so I will probably be on the other end of a similar beating.

Some good guts there - but be careful not to turn a foot injury into a foot and ankle injury. Always better to sort out an injury rather than push it.Turns out I can't sewing/load up and release due to the foot (my left). This then meant I had an "all arms" swing/I had no clue on yardages etc.
