Ooooh... haven't done a WITB for ages! Although it's probably the same as last time, don't think I've changed any clubs since 2020! biglaugh

Mizuno ST220G Driver. 9 degree. Tensei White X-Stiff 70g shaft
Mizuno ST-Z 5 wood. 18 degree. Tensei White X-Stiff 70g shaft
Mizuno MP20-MMC irons 4-PW. KBS $-Taper X-Stiff 130g shafts
Mizuno T20 Wedges - 54 & 58 degrees. KBS $-Taper X-Stiff 130g shafts
SnakeEyes 7801 Tour Platinum putter - Sonartec part carbon shaft (oldest club in the bag - same putter for about 12 years now)

Have also got the matching 3 wood and 50 degree wedge, but only playing 12 clubs currently.

Still using the Srixon Z-Star Diamond ball which I really like, and quality Western Birch tees courtesy of CJG.

Using the lovely single strap bag from Sounder, along with various Sounder/Cookie Jar Golf head covers and towels!

Thanks Bodhi! I think point 1 is the big thing for me (point 2 is very much noted as well though) - the practice swing feels nice and controlled then in the real swing my brain does a big panic at the top of the backswing and everything goes out of shape. It's getting there, just need to chill out a bit!

That's a very nice WITB! Those Nike irons look absolutely gorgeous.

On the topic of Nike, a few weeks back I played with someone who had that old square driver they made years ago and it sounded absolutely horrible. And loud. So, so loud biggrin
Aaah, the SQ..they were shocking...need earplugs on the range!
Haha I remember those - I had the SQ Tour which was the conventionally shaped one and was a little quieter - it still hurt when an XL 2000 or even a Molitor turned up in the range bucket smile

I'd agree there are some cracking WITBs on here and alot of stuff I'd be very tempted to try out if I was in the market for new stuff. The Apex CBs and T150s look glorious - as do the i230s even though I'm not really a Ping guy. Heard many good things about Wilson irons also so they'd be on the list. Good to see some classic Mizuno irons and a few #9 style putters - thought I was the only one still using one smile A TSR 5 wood may be on the horizon also if my 3 iron doesn't start behiving itself....

And thank you for the kind words on the VR Pros - as pointed out I'm quite partial to them smile Absolute bargain as well - got them for £230 from Golfbidder 4 years ago, and they turned up with DG Tour Issue shafts and ribbed grips you couldn't get at the time, and were also 0.5 inch long so bang on the spec I needed.

I've also got a set of the Original Nike Blades (with just the swoosh on them) from 1 - PW which I need to dig out of the attic. They're a bit battered after 15 years of use, but I'm very tempted to get them refurbished and put in a display case.

Ah Western Birch - that reminds me, picked up some of their tees on your recommendation and I'm suitably impressed - far more durable than your typical wooden tee, although I have snapped a few with my 3 wood.

That's a nice bag as well - and some proper shafts! I'm on X-Stiff in my woods but daren't go higher than S400s in my irons. I've got a Nike 2 iron with a C-Taper (slightly different from the $-Taper granted) and its.....stout smile

The Western Birch tees are the nuts.

Yeah, in fairness my iron play is probably the weakest part of my game at the moment, but it's getting back to where it was a couple of years ago.

Getting fitter has definitely helped!

I got out for another 9 at Test Valley yesterday, It was cold and not great conditions to be out. I was actually with a PHer, but I think he's more of a lurker on this thread.

Golf was still awful, I still didn't mind. We were walking, so I was physically pretty tired at the end of the 9. I've decided I won't be going to the range much from now on, the mats have ruined me, I can't connect properly with any of my irons at all!

Anyway. It's still good to get out and get going, fingers crossed I can start to get the hang of the irons again.
I've just looked at the website and the course does look really nice. Massive bonus if it's never closed and drains well. The only thing that annoys me about golf clubs is that most of them don't put the membership prices on the site.

I just asked, they have a wait list for their good memberships but also have me a price list. PM me and I’ll forward it to you!

I've used a cart bag and trolley for the past 15+ years.

However, I have to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying the move to a classic single strap bag and have no inclination to go back.

Currently carrying 12 clubs (detailed above), about 5 spare balls, 20 tees, a couple of spare gloves, and a very lightweight Galvin Green waterproof and a bucket hat if the weather looks dodgy.

That's it. Playing the best golf in a long time. Less is more!

Funnily enough one of the few positives from this winter has been going back to carrying. Similar to you I've only got 13 clubs most days, a few balls tees and a waterproof, all in my Nike (obviouslysmile) lightweight carry bag and it's been great.

I forgot about the freedom you get walking round the course and as long as you're sensible with what you carry, not as tiring as I remember.

Think you win coolest/most stylish setup!

I love the putter, bet you don't bump into many people playing the same.

They gave a £40 account credit for renewing 2 months early this year, which I thought was pretty reasonable.

Another vote for carrying here. I actually find it easier than pushing a trolley, especially on hilly courses!

That's not bad but I'm just wondering why they would do that if they didn't have cash flow issues? Anyway, I think when/if I retire then I'll become a member somewhere. I think that the flexible membership option I have at the moment is ideal and don't fancy tripling the cost of golf when I only play a couple of times a month. I still think that a PH get together would be good though.

3 wood - Paradym Triple Diamond 15* set at 17*
Interesting how you've almost dialed this down to a 5 wood (I suppose it's currently a weak 4 wood?).

A proper strong 3 wood seems to be a club I never need at the moment (14-15 degrees) and is almost a luxury club for the very occasional tee.

I think it's just to get some money in quicker to make sure they're comfortable laying out for the re-working of the 1st hole and driving range / practice area. That's costing ~£1mil. The membership numbers are maxed out and fees are reasonable so I think cashflow is all good - certainly the vibe from all the staff is relaxed which would normally be a good tell.
