As appealing as it sounds I'll just dig out the suitcase I used for the Ashes Oz and pack it for the trip to Antigua.

When you're being eaten by crocs or chasing baby eating dingo's I'll pour myself a nice smooth rum and give you a blow on the conch shell.

thanks anyway for the offer - you english are very kind! I realise how much you love blowing things but I'm nowhere near drunk enough to let a man near my conch shell!

Our attack is woefully thin. Apart from Fred and Monty we are going to leak runs everywhere. Mahmood is a total pie chucker, woefully innacurate. How the hell do they prefer him to Broad???

Don't think Watson will be in the team once Hayden and Symonds return ... plus it was nice to see Mr Cricket get another 0.

Bad performance from us tbh. 121-1 to 197 all out will not win the WC ...

We look all over the place in the field ... all this talk about Vaughan being a really good captain - I'm not so sure - never thought he was anything out of the ordinary myself.

Oh, and conch shells are banned in the crowd at the WC!

I think Vaughan is a decent test match captain. As far as one day cricket is concerned I wouldn't pick him period as his batting record is very poor (notwithstanding yesterday) and he's far from mobile in the field. I think he's probably the best captaincy option of the current crop from a tactical viewpoint but you can't hide a player in ODI's.

Maybe if they were sponsored by Pepsi it would be a different matter? I wouldn't try and take mine aross anyway. Getting it back from St Lucia and then using it at Headingley against the Windies a few years back was enough for me.

Quite enjoying the opening ceremony..... nice bit of reggae music and now dancing performers on stilts re-enacting a cricket match!

Apparently conch shells AREN'T banned now but you have to register beforehand or they won't let you in with one!

Yes Unrep: Vaughan is a decent Test match captain - but in one-dayers he leaves a bit to be desired I think ... but it's a game of opinions as we know.

Read it all Mikey. I said I wouldn't even have him in my side for ODI's!

I'll see if I can get one off a Lilt Lady on the beach and register it by "dropping" some $'s with the security guys to look after.

Thats some start by the Windies......dot, 6, wicket.

Now where's that bottle of Ron Bacardi I've had hidden away, me feels like a smooth long one.

I hope the England bowlers are watching the way the WIndies have bowled at Pakistan today. One side of the wicket, disciplined etc.. and as a result they frustrated batsmen as good as Youssuf out. Top stuff.

OK... I've just burned a fiver by putting it on the skirt wearers at 99-1!
gotta be worth it for amusement sake alone!
I reckon a tidy outsider punt is Kenya to make the semis at 50-1. From memory they did alright last time & they are a stronger side now than then. England & NZ are not the most consistent of teams so a win over either will put them into the super 8 - then it's a win over Windies or Pak to get the semis - stranger things have happenned!(England beat us in the ODI home series for example - I'd of blown money on Kenya long before predicting that!)

Going on the current exchange rate thats about 34p then, last of the big spenders!!

Stranger things have happened and there's got to be one big upset, why not the Scots. I think Kenya did make the semi's last time but I'm afraid they won't get out the group stages this time round. The games between the top two seeds in each group could prove to be the difference between getting into the semi spot, that Super-8 table will end up going to net run rate or something equally as daft.

???? a fiver of real UK money - I do live in the UK after all - you dont think for a minute that I'd spend this much time in front of my PC if I was back in Oz - I'd be outside getting skin cancer while looking out for th 100 creatures who could kill me and getting my kid's out of a dingo's gob

Ahh, my mistake. Time to head off to that authentic Australian watering hole of Walkabout and cheer on the skirt wearers then. Lets see how soon that £5 of the Queens money can get thrown down the drain.
