It doesn't help that I'm crap at getting out of bed so early morning runs before the daughter gets up are a supreme test of willpower hehe
Same here. I looked at that parkrun thing, and there is a second 9 O'clock in the morning! I never knew.scratchchin

Speed reps this morning. 30 seconds running / 30 seconds stood still. Two miles in just over 10 minutes and I wanted to die at end I felt so bad! Must have been a good run biggrin

very gentle 6 miles for me this evening. annoyingly (well, sort of) i feel absolutely fine when running....no coughing or anything so there is so much temptation to push on, but i know it's not going to be good for me so just ran with a (rather hot, i might add) 24 year old woman at 7:50/mile.

can't remember the last time i finished a run feeling so fresh hehe

i've decided to not to run hard at all until i'm over this cough, but to continue running at a much lower intensity.

last week been a good week - x-country race in brecon saturday, 9 beautiful hilly, steady miles sunday, 7.5-8 miles (3 of those miles <6min/mile) on tuesday, just over 5 hilly miles yesterday and steady 6 today.

that'll do for now smile

Intervals for me tonight! Quite depressing going from being able to do 45 mins of really intense high speed intervals to being back down to 9.5mph for the sprints and only doing half the distance I used to do. Even my warm up run at 7mph for a few mins had my heart rate up to 190bpm eek Used to be able to do around 7.5mph for for a steady run and barely go above 175bpm. Serves me right for focussing too much on weights and not running!

Shockingly unfit! Been saying I'm going to get back in to running since September last year, and only just really starting to get back in the gym properly after I ate my body weight in chocolate over Christmas.

Still, I know what I need to do to get back in to it. Wanna be back up to 45min 10Ks by the end of summer. Should be doable, just need to get some consistency to my running and stop fannying about!

For the first time in 9 months I have run 3 times in less than 7 days. A gentle 5.5 with the wife again in 45 mins. Going to try 8 miles on Saturday morning smile

12.5 miles for me tonight - combined my 12m slow run with an intervals session at the club, as you do!

Entered the Blackburn winter warmer 10k race,

doing it for base line time as it is near my house and can you use it to progress how I am improving, and will be able to use it as a training run.

last 10k race (slow) I did was 2 years ago, and only do a couple of slowish 5 mile recently.

Today was 4M easy/rest day for me - but for some reason it turned into a 31:47 5m at lunch. Day off tomorrow maybe - need to do a long run Sunday or Monday.

A sneaky 8 this morning to the castle on Mont Juic and back. 30 seconds under an hour and felt quite good throughout. 3 runs in a week is a good starting point and 3 next week will mean that I feel confident to go for 4 the next. Still debating Barcelona Half next weekend as a jog...

Did my first parkrun today. First time on the road since Manchester 10k last May. Right ankle no issue, left ankle feels used.
Rainy, windy, muddy, absolutely soaked at the end of it. Too bloody hilly as well!
I guess I'll get emailed my time. Timed myself but not exact, around 30 mins I think.

i was going to go out this morning, but my cough is not any better and the weather here is south wales is rather horrensous; peeing it down, so windy it's almost horizontal.

i'll use the cough as an excuse, i think hehe done 3 sessions already this week and i'll do a steady tomorrow. 4x a week is more than enough when you're not too well hehe

vaseline is your friend. works for me, but not others.

i use it when going >15 miles or if it's raining a lot. same for groin to stop chaffing, i might add hehe

Get yourself some bodyglide.... it really does work... that and a tight under top (ooooeerrrr) which does not rub helps
