Myabe I need a leash to get me going? hehe

Been following the C25K app for a few weeks now, had to have a few days off due to sore knees.

Last night however was the first run that worried me, it jumped from run 8 min walk 5 min run another 8 min which was the last day, to warm up and run for 20 min.

I was concerned about it but did manage to run for a constant 20 min, covered 3.5km in that 20 min which i was pretty pleased with.

Nothing too major i relaise but 5 weeks ago i'd have struggled to run to the end of the road & back!

Good effort.

Sore knees at this early stage suggests that you may need to concentrate more on your running technique and/or new shoes. Better to sort it now than later.

I'm doing my first run home in a while tonight (It's only going to be 26C) and a run into work tomorrow. Don't think I'll be pushing the Strava leaderboard in terms of speed, but looking forward to running with the backpack

OI went for a solo 10K run at lunchtime. I wasn't quite (couple of seconds/Km in som places) as quick as I had been last time, running with somebody else.

Encouragingly, though, I felt stronger and I was faster at the end than I had previously on the same route.

Does anyone have a good cure for a fungal toenail infection?!..a little over six weeks before marathon day so I'm loath to do anything too serious as its not causing any discomfort and the nail, although now brittle, is short enough to not be damaged through running.

I tried exilor and the scholl one and neither worked. My toenail is pretty thick as it was damaged playing football so I'm going to go to the doctor and get antibiotics instead.

Saw a snake (Southern Copperhead) which I nearly trod on. Later found out it is venomous. I took a picture and loaded it onto Strava (it's a bit grainy as I zoomed as far as I could and I did not get too close) It was only 25C last night and 20C this morning

Ran in this morning as well which was nice and saw no snakes smile

Nice encounter! I once saw a rattlesnake while on a run in Colorado - scary!

Did you follow me on Strava today? Got a new follower based in Atlanta...

I did a 13.3k last night and it felt quite good.

One of the group has bought a Polar running watch and it is a great piece of kit. We had a good look at the run on a computer afterwards and some of the splits were bloody good. The quickest was a 4.13 per km and an uphill section was 5.30. Considering 10 months ago 5.30 was a good 'flat' time were all quite happy.

I was ahead of him by around 2 minutes after our group run and he averaged 5.15 min/km so I was well under 5 which was pleasing considering the break from proper running I have had.

I ran back home and managed to squeeze out around 300 metres at 3.45 whilst running next to the chap on his bike but I was dead afterwards.

Ran my first half of the year last weekend. Not a great time but good for fitness.

Had a flyer left on the car for a trail run which seemed like a good idea so have entered that too.

The hill at mile 5 looks like I will be walking! Not expecting a pb but think it will be good experience, nice views and fun (!).

Well I've just joined (Chris) and am currently the slowest member biggrin though in my defence I had to stop and wait for some people so should be around the same pace as Colins last run. I think we need to recruit some more slower people biggrin
Happy to oblige.

Just joined - (I'm the other Chris) and I'm slower than you as requested!

A flat, aerobic 10K run last night saw a slight discomfort developing in the lower calf/upper achilles area of my left leg....

The achilles area was a bit stiff this morning. Not a good sign.

frown

I've been quite injury-free for a while now, so I shouldn't really complain... rolleyes

Joined the Strava club last week (Andrew)!
Great seeing what other people run in a week, I can only manage lunchtime runs at work so not the best and just coming back from Injury but hopefully my mileage should be picking up in the next few weeks with longer weekend runs (still managing top 10..just)
Keep it up guys, I think it has made me a bit more competitive looking at the weekly board and thinking....I can climb a few places with this run! thumbup

Just recce'd the course for tomorrow's World Masters Mountain Running Championships in Betws-Y-Coed. Couple of decent climbs with the second one being the tougher so I'll need to hold back a little for that especially as it's then all downhill to the finish on fast trails.

A couple of the guys who comprehensively beat me in the trial for the World Champs are here, so hopefully I'll be a bit closer to them this time.
