I like sport; I'm an ex-sportsman. But cricket? Nah. Can't do it. Never enjoyed it at school and even after people have suggested I watch 20/20 cricket, it just doesn't do it for me.

The thing is, I don't even want to like it. Gimme contact sports any day of the week.

I think the one day game can be quite good and Im scottish! The test matches seem utterly pointless when 4 days of play or whatever can be rendered pointless by some rain. When England won the ashes last time I was actually quite enjoying the series but it was abundantly clear that the australians were the better side and would easily have won the final test and retained the ashes if it werent for the fact england got 2 full innings at bat but the australians only got one plus a wee extra shot which made it almost impossible for them to catch england. Seemed a rather pointless and unsatisfying way for the series to be decided as a neutral, didnt seem to bother anyone else though confused

OK, don't. I can't watch football as it's so pathetic, like kids in the playground (diving, hassling the ref, all about money not performance). Different strokes for different folks

If you join or support an Aussie team you may still not enjoy the game but at least you won't be a loser wink

PS.. contact sports are the best though... play a few seasons of Aussie Rules and you really start to understand the meaning of contact sport.

Are you convieniently forgetting the fact that rain had saved the Aussies previously in the series?

Not to the same extent IIRC and anyway that still means that the outcome was a lottery dependant on whether it was wet or not!

Not to the same extent? We needed one more wicket, and we had lost a considerable amount of time to rain. The final test, the Aussies could have batted for longer, yet chose to take the rain...

I can't get into cricket. I have no interest in the game. But I do know, despite my dislike of the game, that England are a shambles.

Gotta love all this "reflection".. rain did this, rain did that... Just look at the most recent series, what was the score again?? 5-0?? no way, who could be that shite!

yes Just like the Football team frown and it's more hope than expectation with the Rugby team too.
