Boo-ed.

Because he was 'too tired' to go to the U21 Championships??

Assuming for a moment he was actually saving himself for the senior team, does he deserve that reception??
Is it a similar situation to Chris Sutton's?

He deserves every thing he got, he should be proud to where the England shirt if it was for under21/18/16 whatever, how can tiredness be an excuse?

I think Sutton was ripped to pieces by the media, but not bood by the fans, could be wrong though

he wasn't boo-ed for being too tired to play he was boo-ed for accepting his place then saying he was too tired thus making it too late to name a replacemnet he should have put the shirt on with pride and did his best like all the other kids did tired or not

he should be ashamed of himself

For the record (I'm not sure my original post sounded quite right..) I agree with that completely.

Bentley shouldn't have even been there to get the stick in the first place.

His reception, providing it is a one-off, was pretty fair. Who booed him? People who would sell their mother/house/car/girlfriend to pull on the shirt. He needed to be reminded that it's a privilege to wear the 3 lions. Can anyone picture G Neville, JT or for that matter Gareth Barry complaining of fatigue to excuse themselves from England duty?

All this is s****e about people like Neville, Terry etc playing with a broken leg or whatever to put the shirt on. Surely if a player feels unfit, he is doing everyone a favour by not playing. Bentley, SWP and Lennon, when fit should be considered long before effin Beckham, who looks like he's been playing with a broken leg for years. His last good game was against Greece. So let's get off Bentley's back, we need to support all these young players, they are the future.
I certainly wouldn't sell me mother,g/f etc to pull on an England shirt, tho might do it for a Sagaris or for Rafa.
