Well, if ever an England team had a chance to give the Boks a good kicking it was tonight. Several dropped chances and some woeful batting led to a bad loss - they shouldn't have got 130 let alone 150+ ...

England better up their game for the Black Caps come Tuesday. Luke Wright cannot stay in the team - please! Yes, he's good domestically but he obviously thinks he's better than he is some of the shots he's played to get out.

Get Maddy back in, or let Shah open with KP at three ... but looking at our line up we're just not going to score the runs to get out of this group.

What we seem to lack with our batting is any 'flair' - this is why I love watching the Sri Lankans play - so much talent, and the ability to adapt and score off different types of delivery - I'm praying for an Aus v Sri Lanka final where Aus get trounced ...

It just gets better! So we could now be going into the NZ game without a recognised wicket keeper after Prior got smacked by a ball from Moore. He's gone off to hospital for a scan/x-ray. And the backup keeper Bopara is already injured which leaves us up the creek a tad.

Solanki kept wkt in the session after Prior trotted off to the hossie apparently ...

You couldn't make it up!

Win the toss - BAT this time Colly - and drop Luke Wright.

Where is Ian Bell by the way - is he injured? I can't believe he didn't make the squad ...

KP is a nut if his shot as described on the web is as bad as made out ---

Why are we throwing this away. Luke Wright has a chance to make a name for himself here ...

Yep. I kind of gave up after the 5th wicket but there was always blind hope with 2 overs to go. Mathematically I think we're still in this but thats the only way, come home lads.

He's poppin his head in every now & then, don't worry! Still sunning & drinking in Greece however so limited time to really sink the boots into the old enemy - looks like you soap dodgers better start a thread on yr ladies soccer team, it looks about the only decent chance you have this century of making the finals in anything.

As usual yr cricketers seem to spend more time perfecting their skills in the bar rather than on the field! If only they had pedelo's in their hotel pool - they'd be right at home.

whilst it's easy to get excited about A game of 20-20 it's hard to get excited about THE game of 20-20.

hope that makes sense. i really really hope the rumour i've heard about 20-20 taking over limited overs is just a rumour.

doesn't appear as though we could win a raffle at this game.
I get you Satch ... it does nothing for your technique without which you wouldn't last two minutes in the longer forms of the game, but it is entertaining - it's like a made for TV film ... made for a certain market, and it DOES work as pure fast entertainment.

Thank god for Test cricket though ...

As it replaced the B&H Cup (which for some reason was unpopular) it has filled a gap that wa there, but I think there's still room for a 50-0ver knock out comp.

Onne thing 20-20 will do is lull teams into taking more scoring risks at the 50-over game and so we'll see scores rise a bit. Just like the Aussies approach to Test cricket scoring has made all the other countries have to adapt or die.

Just watch England run this total down now that they're out the world cup.

If only they'd batted with a bit more conviction in the earlier games they wouldn't now be at the airport ...

They're saying fastest ever 50 in international cricket - so 20-20 qualifies as INTERNATIONAL cricket......??????

harrumph
Well, it is between nations and in an ICC world cup... confused

Or is it "change is bad" again?
