Quite right.

But to be fair, Manchester United is the first team that springs to mind (even to people who know nothing about football) when 'Utd' or 'United' is mentioned. Particularly in a thread about a game involving Everton which most football fans knew were playing Man Utd yesterday. Pedantry at its best ?

Lets not get carried away here, you may hate United (sorry, Manchester United) but we all know they are THE United. smile
