This Saturday, there is one game in the Premier League kicking off at 3pm...

What utter lunacy!

What? You mean it's all about TV revenue and not about the fans going to the matches!?! Who'd have thought it..? wink

Well, to be fair, there is only 2 games! Most are playing sunday, and most have a 3:00 kick off.

I agree, but he who pays the piper etc ... how nice it would be to get back to all the Prem teams kciking off at 3pm on a Sat with maybe one game on a Sunday.

But when you have 24 hours x Xnumber of sports channels to fill and you're basically calling the tune - the Prem League will continue dancing.

League one and two is where it's at ... okay the game isn't as quick but no prima donnas, wet soggy pitches (sometimes) and terrible defending most weeks (watch the highlights) - more in touch with the fans by a long way.

I'm enjoying this season much more now Watford are back in the Championship, and to be honest, my best memories as a supporter are from division two back in 96/7/8. Quite apart from the ludicrous kick-offs (11am?!), there's the continual drivel coming from the alleged "experts". Rather than sitting there and smugly pointing out Watford "lack quality" (well duh), it would have been nice to have got at least a little bit of credit for actually GETTING to the top flight, given we did it with an inexperienced manager, a bunch of kids and an ex-con, all for about £3.50. The majority of pundits exist in a big club bubble, and seem to think that everyone worries about nothing but the top three and their European chances, when there's a whole army of people out there watching their local team regardless of division. I couldn't give a toss about Arsenal or Chelsea, but I was glued to the BBC live scores to see how we got on at Scunny today. In years past I'd have been there.

Of course, I may well find myself between a rock and a hard place if our current form is anything to go by! I want to see the club do well, but I hate the Premiership. Tricky.

Oh, and shout YOU 'ORNS!

I know its still rubbish and a sad reflection on how tradition is withering away in football, but isnt it to do with the European games in midweek and the new ruling over how many days 'rest' the teams need between games, rather than TV this time?

BTW, who did come up with this idea, was it the PL or is it another UEFA mad idea?

I really didn't think we'd have this sort of start, as the division looks really tricky on paper, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Everyone I've spoken to insists we aren't playing especially well (or at least not consistently), so makes you wonder what we'll do if Betty can get things running on all cylinders.
