Whatever your opinion is now, I highly recommend reading 'True Blue' by Dan Topolski. Fantastic book and one which at the very least gives an insight into just how unbelievably gruelling the race is.

Anachronistic tradition - but that's not a bad thing.

Come on Cambridge!

What? Come on Oxford! Sporting some lardy boys this year - have to hope it's windy

Erm, I wouldn't be so sure about that... wink

Won't make it down to the Tideway this year, but hoping Oxford win (again).

I can appreciate the effort that goes into the training, planning and then the race itself but everything else that goes with it is total and utter crap. The public school trust fund brigade who fill the pubs and banks with shirt collars turned up and don't actually watch the race talking about pearl earings and if they will use Mimi's or Rupert's dads ski chalet this year is enough to make you sick.

Anybody read "Blood over water", it is a book by two brothers who rowed against each other in 2003 when Oxford won it by a foot.
Unfortunately I have to miss the F1 season opener and the boat race due to sons karting, but still shoutCOME ON OXFORD!

Try living with them at University - the training is mind blowing. We had an undergrad who rowed in the boat race and also rowed for college and some how managed to get a good degree.

Now the dilemma - home town vs University.....

Brave effort from Cambridge in the first half of the race but well done Oxford, too strong!
