Obviously Kabeeb is a monster on the ground but there is the real question as to whether he could get Conor there, it took Diaz rounds and lots of striking to get him there in the first bout and he was a bigger guy (height and reach). Conor may well spark Kabeeb out in the way he did Alvarez. Tony Ferguson or even Petis might prove to be more entertaining, more technical striking to match Conors, maybe Aldo will come up to 155, the idea that Conor could be beaten on the ground was always predicated on someone of his own size being able to take him down there, I though that was the case, now maybe not so much.
when khabib has fought the calibre of opponent that mcgregor has it will be easier to judge him. since they stopped them using iv's to rehydrate it will be interesting to see how khabib has managed the huge weight cut he makes when in with someone that is capable of pushing him.

yes he looked great against johnson . watch the johnson diaz fight , doesn't make the johnson win look so great now and if khabib reacted to the good but not great shot johnson caught him with the way he did, it looks to me it would be lights out the first time mcgregor caught him clean. remember johnson is a fairly small lightweight , khabib won't have the same physical advantages with mcgregor.

i think pettis is done now certain elements of the game are more strictly looked at.the way his performance dropped off a cliff from the most high tempo and among the most skilled on the roster to someone that looked like they were fighting flat was a bit alarming to me. i can't see any way back for him, not to championship winning level anyway. i agree on ferguson . the man has an amazing ability to absorb everything he is hit with despite not having a heavy frame and has every single shot in the book and the ability to get them all to flow one after the other. very hard to deal with that for anyone , i would love to see him in with mcgregor after mcgregor and diaz fight at 155 so we can see them both at their best weight.

How does IV hydration help in this instance? In medicine we use IV when a patient cannot drink for whatever reason. Oral hydration is no less effective and nor will it make you pee more or less.

McGregor relinquishes title

Or possibly taken off him? Either way, probably the right decision

Just caught up with Whattaker v Brunson.

What an exciting fight! Great action while it lasted, no way that was ever going for 5!

Total slugfest.

Brunson had very poor technique, he seemed to be running around everywhere with his hands down and losing his footing. He totally lost that fight due to not fighting smarter.

And people wondered if the UFC would change with its sale.

Have you seen the interview with him floating around on FB.

He says the title is still at his home and someone has to come take from him and he is still deeming himself as 2 weight belt holder. Typical Conor.

Roll on 206 this weekend - I'm a Pettis fan

Yup, proper cracking card that. Enjoyed all but the headline fight which turned out to be a bit of a let down to be honest.

Agree with this.
Swanson / Choi was awesome! Cowboy as usual puts in a tremendous performance too.

Looking forward to Ronda v Nunes. Should be an excellent fight....... hopefully

Lol
I first thought Nunes would indeed demolish Ronda, but I really believe the Ronda we saw against Holm was not the real Ronda. She just didn't look in shape or herself at all to me. I think she'll come in really motivated and will be in shape so and therefore will take Nunes down and get back to what she does best and armbar her.

I'd much rather Nunes knocks her out because I'm not a fan of her.
