The new management of the UFC must be kicking themselves. Their two biggest stars have been either poorly treated and annoyed (Connor), or been destroyed (Rowdy).

On the plus side, the potential superfights being mentioned, the need to cement some belts and some inter-camp rivalry does help. Interesting times in the MMA world.
Doesn't Rhonda have a personal management contract with the same bunch? It's not surprising she gets extra special attention.

This is sort of what I feared the UFC would become a travelling circus show and more away from being a real open and competitive sport, that said Rhonda deserved a shot of a come back, she probably should have taken a warm up fight first or a rematch with Holly.

Holly vs Nunes should come around pretty quick and the winner to fight shevchenko, so it's not as if it's not competitive sport, to contradict myself I guess they can't get away with too much the fan base is now very knowledgeable.

McGregor offered $15m by Floyd Mayweather for crossover bout - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/38591420

How exactly do people think he could beat Mayweather in a boxing match? Ridiculous.

What's ridiculous is being offered only $15m.

Any promoter worth their salt should be trying to bill this as the biggest, most expensive fight ever. The purse for each should, rightly so, be massive.

Really? Some hyped up UFC fighter against Mayweather? How can that be more expensive than Pacquiao? The money in MMA is nothing compared to that in boxing.

McGregor is a product of the UFC trying to market certain fighters and push them. The same as they did with Rousey who was eventually shown to be a fraud the moment she got hit in the face.

No, not really....I'm not saying this is the biggest fight (ever!!!) but that's how it should be promoted. Therefore the offer in front of him at present is very poor

15 million and a split on the ppv revenue...which would be insanely big....if i was mcgregor i'd jump at that. he's never going to earn anywhere near that anywhere else.

however.....i don't really like the fight from a purists point of view. boxers can't compete with mma fighters in terms of ground game and 8 striking points just like mma fighters will never be able to compete with pure boxers in boxing....they are completely different sports and should be treated as so imo.

mcgregor/mayweather isn't even a sporting contest it's a joke.....just like when that daft old bd james toney had the arrogance to think he could spend a few months getting to grips with mma then challenge couture...the outcome of mcgregor/mayweather would similarly be farcical

If I was Mcgregor I'd jump at the chance, get a lit up like a Christmas tree then go off and enjoy the rest of my life with £30odd million plus (after ppv) in my pocket

Ferguson vs Khabib has finally been confirmed, that should be a great fight

Agreed. Here's hoping Tony gets the win. Don't like Khabib.

I suppose that'll mean McGregor / Diaz 3 then zzzz

Unless he fights Mayweather which is looking less likely going by Floyd's latest statements.

The winner of Ferguson / Khabib gets the interim title, thus McNugget has to fight or be stripped (again).

Bets on the latter because of no good reason again?

Just caught up on the latest fight night.

Wow. Long on boring-ass decisions (with some very strange decisions), and then a straight out-classing.

BJ, please re-retire. That was painful. Especially with the hype machine concentrating on you and not your opponent.

Did anyone see any possibility of it playing out any way other than how it did? Utterly predictable.
BJ is now 1-6 in his last 7 fights over the last 7 years. He shouldn't have been given or taken that fight.

Watching the Joe Rogan fight companion to it was telling.

Rogan himself was starting to publicly question the new UFC management, and how they are making a bit of a mess of fighter management.

As a side note, has Joe Silva left? Was this fight night the work of a new match maker? Because they sucked.

That the new brass (or people connected with them), didn't even know the name of who was fighting Rousey. Questioned if they had even been involved in an endeavour that can be so unpredictable.

I think this is the clip? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXlLEs3XHHM

Eta - Yes, Sean Shelby is now the match maker. Not a great start.

Agreed - London was looking a little light, but they have just announced Jimmy Manua is on the card.
