UFC on Fuel Prelims are on live now online & UFC.com has the Franklin v Le fight scheduled for 1400GMT... Although I can't see anywhere to watch that live, at least not legally. Not on ESPN til this evening, as stated.

Sonnen v Griffin... reallY? You think a 205lb Sonnen would be weaker than Griffen. Doubt that very much. Also, imo, he is a far more rounded and dangerous fighter who could very quickly get dominance of Griffin/take him down, his wrestling is in a different class.

Also, given who he's fought and how well he's done overall do you really think Forrest deserves a better right to a shot? Hardly had a stellar career over the past few years, books aside.

As for Jones - probably 'not a chance'! But at least the show should be entertaining.
Yep, Griffin is one of the biggest 205'ers, he walks around at about 240lb iirc. If Sonnen can't take the fight to the ground he struggles.

I don't think that Forrest deserves a shot. I also don't see that Forrest is a stepping stone for a title shot, more a stepping stone towards the higher levels of the division.
They have fought before:

Moot point as the fight is now cancelled. Cheal Sonnen is fighting Jon Jones for the Light heavyweight belt in April after TUF.

Some good fights at UFC on Fuel 6

Great KO by Le, Time for Franklin to call it time on his fantastic career.
Silva is a warrior. Very tough and nice to see him back in the win column after a couple of losses and unusual piss test.
some great wars, Gomi & Danzig was awesome. Tuck & Zhang should have been fight of the night IMO.

Yes, thanks for the courtesy. Pity the appropriately named Ned didn't have the same, and that I was slack enough to look in before the bill aired - assuming it was live - only to have the result given and fight ruined all by the deliberate, mocking nastiness of the spitemonger.

Now the big discussion.... Will GSP come back at full strength, or even have enough to beat Condit?

I reckon that with his work ethic and his scientific approach to training he will be as strong and fast as ever, unless the injury has still left issues/hampered him?

But he might be rusty and a step back timing wise which could cost hom as Condit is v. sharp and fast and seems to be increasingly dangerous.

Coyft - not a clue, sorry.

Lost_BMW, having seen the build-up show, I have to say I'm really impressed by what GSP has been doing, but the lack of fighting to go straight in against Condit is... disturbing?

Missed that. Any idea when it's on again?
Was on last night as well, but can't see it in the planner.

It's a good question. Gonna be interesting to see, either way.

Watched the UFC Primetime shows last night on the YouTube and was impressed by both fighters training camps and general demeanour. Whether GSP should be coming straight back to face Condit is debatable but fair play to him for stepping up.

Watching them train just made me want to get in the gym hehe

Quite like both guys so no real wish to see one or the other win, just really hoping for a decent fight.

Agreed, certainly be interesting to see whether the much discussed ringrust will be a factor. It'd be great to see GSP back and winning in a dominant fashion though, the UFC is poorer for his absence. I reckon he'll be looking to come back with a bang, so to speak.

GSP has no choice but to fight Condit, He is the belt holder, Condit is the Interim belt holder.

Looking forward to it, I hope Condit can push off GSP's takedowns to stop it being a Lay and prey fight, Condit has the power and speed to light GSP up. Hopefully they both go to win the fight rather than to not lose which is GSP's normal gameplan.

I know... but was just really musing that it would be preferbale (from the GSP camp point of view) for GSP have a warm up type fight first. Understand that's not going to happen though. Stepping up was maybe the wrong way to put it hehe
