DC looked tiny compared to JJ. I was surprised his gameplan was to go toe-to-toe with JJ, it was a huge mistake going up against such a reach advantage and a better striker. By the end of round 2 DC just looked dead. JJ just did what he usually does and did the minimum to get by which was a bit disappointing to see someone fight like that. Only person who could really beat him is Gustaffson and a lot of people believe he won the decision against JJ in their first encounter. There's a few other impressive candidates in that weight division but they're still miles off JJ. He's freakishly big for someone of that weight class.

Meh, DC gave a decent enough account of himself, thought he might have been able to do more. Credit to Jones, he did what he had to do.

Overall i felt the fight was a bit of a let down, the first few rounds were quite good and when DC landed he seemed to land hard but i think once they got into the clinch/wrestling and it appeared Jones had the edge then it seemed to deflate Cormier and he then seemed to just want to win the wrestling battle rather than the fight

not sure how Myles Jury felt running away for 3 ounds was going to win him a fight and was good to see Cerrone give him a good kicking at the end

looking forward to Gus vs Rumble and Silva vs Diaz

also looks like Mcgregor will get Aldo after he beats Siver. i don't think he's the second best guy (that's a toss-up between Mendes, Lamas & Edgar)but he will probably sell the most tickets and PPV's and it's an exciting fight, though i think with Mcgregors wide stance Aldo will kick his lead leg into row Z

Nice write up.

Jones seems a bit of a knob.

Wish this stuff was broadcast on one of the big five channels.

Yeah, Jones is coming across more and more like a douche (to use the American parlance). I really enjoyed his style when he was making his title run and just afterwards (until after Vitor)- a wonderful combination of youth, exuberance, humbleness and TALENT for days.

Now he just seems to be a braggart, someone who has crossed the line between self-belief and cockiness. His tactics in the fight are questionable (the eye poking is just ridiculous - Herb had to hell him again about fingers up rather than out), and his antics at the stare down - just capped this off perfectly. Thankfully he was punished, but in all the interviews he blamed DC for it - he can't do wrong in his own eyes.

Agree with everyones comments really. I used to like and respect JJ but he has become (or always was) a pretty classless individual. I was amazed so many MMA people thought JJ would lose though, he had so many more weapons than DC. Once it started and DC realised he couldnt rag doll Jones that was it really. He tried but Jones was and is a better all round mixed martial artist. I agree Alex G may the one person who might beat him but I have a feeling he missed his one chance last time and JJ would win the rematch. Says it all though when Jones gets so heavily booed during his ring walk. People want to see him lose. I also loved Cowboys display, always exciting to watch, seems a top bloke. Can't wait for some of the upcoming fights too, Aldo v Conor....really hard to call that one!

Cowboy was really, really upset after the fight - I pity his next opponent!

Aldo - let's see if I can do the reverse JBJ/DC. Aldo will win easily. *puts the hex on*

Right, finally caught up.

JBJ - DC to be honest I found it a bit boring. Jones is a weapons grade tool, but fk me he looked like he was going to win that the whole way through. DC just never really looked in the fight, I think by the end of the 3rd DC was too tired to contend much more.

Cowboy... wow, that was a statement performance... those kicks at the end sounded brutal, I'd love to see some shots of jury's legs from after the fight. His next fight will be quite interesting I think, do we know who is next?

The rest, all a bit meh, Lombard didn't look like he knew what to do with Burkman, I know he still won, he's all power and less technique I think.

Benson Henderson in two weeks time! Alvarez had to pull out of the Boston card so Cowboy steps in.

Benson is down at number 5 rank, be no-one ranked lower for cowboy soon.

He was super pissed at the end, impressive moonwalking by jury, always going backwards.

I have to say Jones actually comes across OK in this, can't help but feel for DC though.

Is that right about Cowboy fighting Benson? wow thats another exciting matchup. I'll be 100% backing Cowboy but Henderson is a damn fine fighter. Leg kick war!

Some of the comments make a good point about the treatment Diaz has received from the UFC for smoking weed and this. Other comments are batst mental like 'Was he coked up during the fight'

Just seen that on FB.

Shocked, I must say.

Maybe we can blame the coke for him being such a massive bell end lately wink

WTF is wrong with people? He's a role model for lots of people, gets paid very well, sponsorships and endorsements etc and he feels the need to do coke?

The good news being that the UFC and the commission are taking out of competition drugs testing seriously and not protecting the golden goose.

Well it would explain his dick-behavior and how he was much more rational after the fight in the Megan interview.

As for the comment of why he does coke - people enjoy taking it. It really is that simple. It's effects are well-known - the only problem is its a fairly addictive substance (research has come out in the last year that coke creates new pathways in the brain that makes you want to take it more).

Still, it's a big surprise.
