I can't even begin to imagine the pain. I knew he'd done something bad from his reaction

If you haven't seen Fight night 67 give it a watch, one of the best I've seen this year.

You weren't kidding. That was an impressive display. I wonder what the judges scorecard would have looked like if it went to decision. Being on your back usually isn't scored favourably.

Agreed. The Ortega fight was the highlight of the card. Great battle with the full gambit of MMA on show.

Joanna looks a monster - how long before a ladies super fight is discussed...

Women's MMA is so inferior to Men's. Yes, I suppose Joanna looked ok in that, a lot of her punches were pretty sloppy and lacked power. The other one was merely a human punchbag. It could have gone on 5 rounds as she wasn't getting knocked out but the ref decided to stop it because he probably thought enough blood had been lost and the result was foregone.

There seems to be a huge divide between a good female fighter and then the rest aren't even competitive on a good day.

I couldn't agree less, the nature of mma is that once someone get's the upper hand in a fight they tend to look like they're dominating, no one really predicted how average Cain Valesquez would look the other week, there's very few 5 round battles where you're left thinking it was even, and when there are long even fights like the Edgar vs Faber match last month no one suggest it's due to lack of knock out power. This polish women (I ain't spelling that) is a multiple world level Muay Thai champion, she's got skills to die for, in that sport there is a huge level of competition amongst the women, some aren't even women they're transgender folks ;o). She's very very good and that's why the other Penne looked average, some of those blows (especially the elbows) would quickly make almost every human look average.

As with Jones and Mighty mouse and Rhonda she's just a step ahead of her class.

I watch MMA for the sporting narrative, the skill and bravery on display and for the thrill of the nature of combat sport, I don't really see that lacking in women's MMA at the very top level, but in all MMA (men and women) if you go down a level or two it all gets a bit circumspect. Now if you watch it purely for the enjoyment of the violence and the thrill and the arse clenching cringe of the massive blows going in then men's mma is more of a spectacle - but those sort of battles are few and far between in the sport really and not always the best demonstration of the skills of the fighters.
