There seems to be a huge divide between a good female fighter and then the rest aren't even competitive on a good day.
I have to say I agree with this - only in the fact I find the wrestling side of MMA so boring to watch. (Bear with me here). The reason I say that is that most of the ladies would have trouble finding a finish in a Xmas cracker, let alone the cage. Therefore the fight is either a kickboxing contest without the power/chance of a finish that most mens fights would, or it's a snooze-fest pressed up against the cage, or lying on top of one-another.

There are very few ladies that can bring a finish - Ms Angry Face, Cat, Joanna and Meisha.

Most others, most of the time are just fast forwarded. I really hope that changes - Paige VanZant looked good last time out. (Yes, I know).

Apparently Joanna trained for 5 years kickboxing under Ernesto Hoost! She is an exciting fighter, I love strikers so I'll always watch her fight. I like JoJo too but she isnt ready for Joanna yet!

Not a bad card this weekend IMO, main event was very good, some other fights weren't all that though. Just hoping the Aldo fight goes ahead and lives up to billing

Agreed on all fronts. I didn't think I'd see another left-roundhouse knock out after Cro Cop....

Did anybody else attend Macto Championships in Milton Keynes last night? was local for me and a few friends were on the card.

Thought it was a very professional set up and enjoyed the night.

Didn't attend but it looked like a good card, the guys behind Macto are all very experienced, a few of them ex-fighters. who are your friends that competed?

Just read it on ESPN. Dana sounds pissed, loved Conor's statement though. Aldo just looks bad in all this.

Conor said the Doctors cleared Aldo to fight? So obviously not that bad, apparently this isn't the first time he has backed out of a title fight?

So pissed off at this. He has a long history of pulling out of title fights 'injured'. I was so hyped for this fight.

I too was looking forward to it, will be interesting to see how McGreggor handles Mendez though, he's a top wrestler and has the ability to knock you the fk out too. Still an interesting fight, just without all the pr banter around the edges.

I actually think this is a tougher test for Conor. Havent seen him tested by a top class wrestler so be interesting to see if he can keep it at range, use his kicks and reach and stop mendes. If not it will be very interesting! Looking forward to several other fights on the card especially lawler v rory 2.

I agree, Mendes will be a good test. But I still can't see Conor getting beaten. I think he'll show the best of his boxing skills and movement. It will be interesting to see if Mendes can take him down and to see how good Conor's takedown defence is against a quality wrestler.

I also fancy Rory to beat Lawler....... Although I'm not sure why. I think Lawler is better than Rory nearly everywhere but for some reason I fancy Rory to win. Either on points or a submission.
