Just wow, usually i'd be frustrated at a fight finishing so fast however there was no doubting that was fight over.

Really enjoyed all the build up fights also!

The Weidman fight was really good.

Herb Dean is a terrible referee - he's dangerous and they need to get rid of him. Also he has made very questionable stoppages in the past and made funny decisions.

It was a good fight, don't know about Herb but I do know my missus who watches most of the UFC with me was begging for it to be stopped which she doesn't normally

Round 3 - Weidman not defending himself intelligently and getting beaten. That was an easy stoppage. Weidman was turtled up and being pounded on.

Then the Round 4 stoppage was much softer than Round 3, Herb knew he should have called it at end of R3

Obviously as an Irishman I'm delighted. Was at least hoping Aldo might catch him in the mouth though keep him quiet for a bit.

Sorry I meant I don't know about him overall. Have seen some odd decisions in the past but some of the fighters really like him. Agree about the stoppage.

Edgar deserves a shot though, can see Aldo quietly slipping away he has his $$$.

2 new champs. I thought Rockhold looked really good. McGregor KO'ing Aldo so quickly was a bit of an anticlimax though.

Ultimately disappointing to see Aldo being so silly to rush in and get caught like that.

I wanted McGregor to win, but would have preferred a bit of a war simply so you don't get any doubt as to who is the better fighter.
We now have Aldo wanting a rematch, as understandabley he feels he made a mistake and got punished.
Id rather McGregor have had time to take him apart, as i believe he would have smashed him up over a few rounds had it not ended so dramatically.
One things for sure no one can doubt McGregors punching power.
And thankfully the ref got in there before to many hammer fists were thrown.

Yes with the sport getting more coverage over here now (even the BBC are acknowledging its existence) people will be quick to jump on things like that.

I'm definitely not someone calling for fights to be stopped usually but Weidman took way too much damage at the end of round 3 IMO.

Becausei t was an unsatisfying finish (for some anyway) and as the ex champion, given how it went down I think he deserves another chance.

If Rousey gets one then he should definitley get one.
