What I loved was Rogan's pre-fight, pre-issue, guff about Overeem having 'leaned down' and having gone for speed, so he's 20+lbs lighter yet fleshier and way less defined. Nothing to do with not being able to keep risking the peds he got done for, of course, nope he's leaning down!
I think he has to be a bit careful what he says on the UFC shows. He's a bit more candid when talking to Brendan Schaub on his podcasts.Weary of internet morons said:
Not Dana White then, fed up with having to stand next to him and be shouted at every fortnight!
No, apparently they are great friends, and love calling each other to discuss fights. They may be the boss and colour commentator, but they are big fight fans.g4ry13 said:
This is really bugging me, I was thinking about good fights and remembered there was one in 2015.
The fighter had his UFC debut against some well respected fighter, I think it was at 155 or 145. They ended up on the ground and the new fighter was on his back and doing so much damage he was winning the fight. He had really good BJJ and getting into all sorts of good positions. Can't for the life of me remember who it was He won by stoppage. I thought he'd be one to watch out for and now the name isn't ringing any bells.
It came back to me now. Brian Ortega v Thiago Tavares. A very impressive display. The fighter had his UFC debut against some well respected fighter, I think it was at 155 or 145. Few bits out there, so here is a selection: http://mmajunkie.com/2015/12/one-championship-over...Joe Rogan on Twitter: https://twitter.com/joerogan/status/67998561830309...

Cheers! Interesting. There's been a to of debate in boxing about early weigh ins and then the dangerous disparities between fighters when some add more than a stone before the actual fight, Chavez Jr and Alvares are gems for doing this. You end up with supposed middleweights fighting at the weigh-in weight for a light heavy!
Conor McGregor supposedly gets in the octagon around 175lbs. Interesting that the UFC has banned IVs for rehydration between the weigh-in and the fight. Some believe that's a dangerous 'half way house' as it's been suggested that under rehydrated fighters are more susceptible to traumatic brain injury.
