Agree with all the comments on 200, shame, they couldn't have foreseen JBJ cocking up once again though I guess frown

This may be old news to some on here, 3.1 billion yikes

After catching up with the bits I slept through I'm inclined to agree.

After all the hype and promise it did fail to deliver a tad. In private I imagine the UFC brass are kicking themselves for dropping Conor. Or not, as they now get to hype 202 to the max...

Best bit of the weekend for me:

Like something out of a horror movie, fab pic. Aldo looked extremely sharp.

I can't see Mcgregor going back to 145 now, given what's occurring at 155 I see that as the place for him, if this weekend has taught us anything (as if we didn't know) there is no room for being complacent in MMA, there is a half dozen very very competitive guys at 155, don't be surprised if Mcgregor doesn't get an immediate title shot at 155.

He started off looking extremely stiff and only started to loosen up towards the end of Round 1. His footwork didn't look so great.

Have to give Lesnar his due, he came in and got the job done.

He looked massively nervous, and you could see his adrenaline dump wasnt helping with tiredness, to be expected after 5 years out.

One thing he needs to do is learn some basic standup skills though, he looked terrible on the feet, and nowhere near ready for a rematch with Velasquez (which has been doing the rounds). If he could learn at least some standup technique, just enough to set up decent positions for a takedown, he would be far more effective.

I recon Big Country next for him, that would be a good fun fight, although BC has decent wrestling too so more of a challenge on the ground as well.

Agree that 200 didnt live up to expectations, felt a little flat, the constantly evolving card certainly didnt help, neither did the change of main event, especially to Tate/Nunes who although good I dont think have enough popularity to carry a main event status at UFC 200.

Silva was dire, I was of the opinion that unless they could get Cormier a competitive fight he should just stay off the card, and IMO their fight proved that. Not sure what they were thinking, Cormier wasnt going to take risks and a out of prime Silva wasnt going to offer much of a fight, Id rather they had found a true LHW and done it at a catchweight if they couldnt get to 205 in time.

Dire? He fought well for 3 days' notice. Cormier has had epic battles with the likes of Jones and Gustavsson, and still he didn't really do any damage to Silva in 3 rounds.

I think with a proper camp, it could have been ugly for Cormier. AS is still a great fighter. That kick he put to Comier's body near the end did some serious damage, pity he didn't do it more often. Guy is a master technician.

Thing is Cormier was being very conservative with his approach. Just looking to take it to the ground etc. He said as much after the fight. He knew it was dull to watch.

All credit to Silva for stepping up but you can't read much in to either of their performance.

Been watching the prelims for UFC 200 this week - better than the main card so far!

Just noticed Channel 5 (Spike?) are showing Bellator fights now. Which is nice!

I am mildly surprised, considering how, Joe said he has passed 5 tests.

The story doesn't say he has failed though...yet...it mentions 'potential'?

Is that how they always phrase such things?

Apparently MVP cracked Cyborg's skull with that knee.

Good to see him living up to the hype & finishing a seasoned opponent in the same spectacular fashion that he's been finishing everybody else.

Just saw this on my insta feed. DAMNNNNNNNNNN

The knee to the head was just sublime, the pure reflex action of the move was just beautiful to watch.

I'm not a doctor but I'd say that's pretty serious. st. It bring into quite stark contrast the cognitive dissonance most of us practice when watching and practising combat sports. Hopefully Cyborg will be able to continue his Jujitsu career but I hope this is an end to his getting punched in the head.
