White and the brothers don't own UFC any more. Rousey is back (maybe the next PPV?), but not for long. But agreed on your general point that one employee isn't worth more than the company.

At the time of the Reebok deal and the restructuring of the roster onto salaries I suggested it wouldn't work, I still don't think it will, I don't see how you can manage an international sport that way and ensure you're attracting the best talent. But what do I know...

Wasn't Rousey the face of the UFC which Dana was trying so hard to promote. Then she got crushed and dropped off the scene.

A few defeats and Conor will lose some of his appeal for the big bosses. He's really due to actually fight someone who can put in a few good rounds. Most of his opponents have put in poor efforts.
Maybe just maybe that's because connor ha made them look bad...

Simialr to when a good football team beat another good team..its rarely as one made the other look poor its always because the other team didnt show up...

Obviously Kabeeb is a monster on the ground but there is the real question as to whether he could get Conor there, it took Diaz rounds and lots of striking to get him there in the first bout and he was a bigger guy (height and reach). Conor may well spark Kabeeb out in the way he did Alvarez. Tony Ferguson or even Petis might prove to be more entertaining, more technical striking to match Conors, maybe Aldo will come up to 155, the idea that Conor could be beaten on the ground was always predicated on someone of his own size being able to take him down there, I though that was the case, now maybe not so much.

Would CM not have to Alverez a chance of a rematch as his next fight or is that not how it works anymore? CM should try going for the WW belt now just for sts n giggles

I get the impression that after the first Diaz fight, Conor really smartened up his game. Much more methodical, Rigorously sticks to his plan, rarely overextends. Kahbib looks like a monstrosity at the moment but I agree, It's not a given that he could beat Conor.

Totally agree.... with Eddie I saw him go for the take down a couple of times but Connor was very smart at his defensive block and it seemed to rock Eddie that he was not as easy as he possibly thought to take down.... tries to trade gets battered...

Do you think they watch the fights on the card before hand, because if I'd seen what happened to Weidman shooting for a single leg I think I'd have been reluctant. What Conor does, did, so well is control the distance with his teep and his hands, you can't just get in there and wrestle a guy with quick hands and feet and a reach advantage, you'll always be waiting for a mistake, tiredness or lack of concentration - not something Conor was showing any signs of.

Really?

Chad Mendes took him to school in the first round and had taken that fight on 2 weeks notice. I think he picked up an injury too but he was way ahead after the first round.

Jose Aldo - 13 seconds, I don't think we can really say much about that.

Nate Diaz in first fight took him to ground and made Conor look very ordinary. Obviously lost the second fight but that's because for some reason Nate didn't even try to take Conor down.

Another thing Conor has on his side is that he's freakishly large / rangey for the weight division he fights in. A similar advantage to Jon Jones. 155lb is a different game and it'll be interesting to see how he does against people who don't look afraid to throw.

People forget Conor was fighting a staph infection two weeks before that fight though. Diaz fights at 190lb+ as well, nearly two different sports.

They didn't have to fight at 170lb and Conor told him to 'get comfortable'.

No of course not, my point was regardless of the cut, Diaz is a just a different animal in terms of size.

Connor had done a full camp on fighting someone who wouldnt take jim6to ground

To expect him not to take time against a ground man is crazy... people need tobstart giving Connor ALot more credit..he has handled many ground men now, how many does he have to beat till people accept he actually just st hot?
Eddie was suppose to be his biggest test, he now comes out and says didnt keep to his game plan..my question is why? He triedto take him down a couple of times and failed..that tells me enough

Alot more.

Itd be nice to see him vs Aldo again and prove that left wasnt down to good planning and 'luck'.

When CM retires i doubt he will be forgotten but i doubt he will be held with the same regard as GSP/Silva/Aldo etc.

yes

Completely agree Sye, also add to that list Dennis Siver (sp) who hadn't been stopped in ages and was dismantled by Conor.
