She can want to win as much as she wants. With a poor performance like last night and Holly Holm previous, it's not going to happen.

Nice girl but her times passed and ring rust settled in and done the damage.

Well done Nunes.

On that note well done TJ & Cody, I can't wait for that fight to get lined up!

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."
Mike Tyson.

Watched the highlights on YouTube. She was walking the walk on the way in and the coverage was talking her up. Then the fight happened. As said already, talk shows and movies from now on.

Am I alone in thinking that she didn't really want to be in there ? Now fair enough she didn't get much of a chance to do anything. How on earth ws she so poor though ? Looked like a real Novice.

What kind of an ahole would have a go at her for 'not getting over a loss' though, armchair sports wannabes?

Well, that escalated quickly.

She'll be okay and she'll get her place in the history books, Nunes looks like she could reign for a while, she'll earn her wedge soon, the world will keep turning. It's sport.

The same aholes from who praise (and money) is somehow valid, but criticism is not wink

Lacking any good grace or class as part of some faux badass PR is just about excusable as long as you keep winning.

She has more than invited the schadenfreude.

Giving money is incidental, but praising or critiquing a sportperson's performance in the ring is one thing, valid as it goes, but to tell someone to get over a loss and/or critique how they live their life, that's something else.

Nunes is going to demolish her!
I think not.

But there's only one way to find out...

FIGHT!!!!
Lol
I first thought Nunes would indeed demolish Ronda, but I really believe the Ronda we saw against Holm was not the real Ronda. She just didn't look in shape or herself at all to me. I think she'll come in really motivated and will be in shape so and therefore will take Nunes down and get back to what she does best and armbar her.

I'd much rather Nunes knocks her out because I'm not a fan of her.
I agree that she wasn't herself there, but she also had never really been tested at all, all the hype it was a bit like Goliath getting all his hair cut off. I think she has lost her spark and will never get it back again.
Nunes is a pretty fierce opponent. I guess we will have to wait and see though. Will be interesting to watch either way.
You're right, Nunes is the sort of opponent Ronda has never faced before. Should be fun
Knew I should have put some money down.

That went as expected. Stay off the floor and rousey is beaten. Put her up against someone that can swing, she has no hope.

I don't dislike her but she has no class, so unsportsmanlike like too. Refusing to touch gloves at the start of the fight, walking off in a huff after getting her face rearranged. Not so much as a well done or pat on the back. Nothing.

Nunes is going to take some beating. fk me she can throw like a man! The only person I can see capable is holly holm on a good day as she too can box.

The garbrant fight was good, enjoyed that one.

My Virgin box did not record UFC 207 for some reason. Anyone know when it will be repeated? I've just scrolled through all the listings and can't see it.

BT Sport website is not much help! Although I expect I can stream it from there but would rather not faff with login etc.

http://www.unilad.co.uk/sport/ronda-rousey-finally...

Rousey has made a statement

"I want to say thank you to all of my fans who have been there for me in not only the greatest moments but in the most difficult ones. Words cannot convey how much your love and support means to me.

Returning to not just fighting, but winning, was my entire focus this past year. However, sometimes — even when you prepare and give everything you have and want something so badly — it doesn’t work how you planned.

I take pride in seeing how far the women’s division has come in the UFC and commend all the other women who have been part of making this possible, including Amanda. I need to take some time to reflect and think about the future. Thank you for believing in me and understanding."

'reflect and think about the future' doesn't sound like she's coming back to UFC. She'll do movies.

No way that she will be back after that. 2 loses on the trot and neither fights she looked promising either.

I wish I got to see one last arm bar from here but hey ho.

Just watched a re-run of Silva v Bisping. How on earth Bisping got that decision baffles me?

If I remember correctly, at the time I thought that he won 3 of the 5 rounds.

He did, he boxed Silva up in the rounds where he wasn't getting knocked out.

The new management of the UFC must be kicking themselves. Their two biggest stars have been either poorly treated and annoyed (Connor), or been destroyed (Rowdy).

On the plus side, the potential superfights being mentioned, the need to cement some belts and some inter-camp rivalry does help. Interesting times in the MMA world.
