I've not watched any UFC for a couple of years now, how good is the Irish guy fighting Aldo?
He's good. Hits and kicks from wild angles and has very good unconventional body movement, he's obviously in great physical shape, is young and on a winning streak and full of confidence. I think he has a real chance.

Agreed. I almost feel like I've fallen for the hype machine but I do think he's got the talent to back up some of what he talks. That being said, his wild style might just be his undoing against an opponent like Aldo. Neither are to be underrated. I like that it could be a 5 round war or over in 20 secs - it's a hard one to call for me.

R1 should have sealed it, but I agreed with the result - Ragin' Al was the more active fighter for R2 + 3. But I understand why the crowd was upset.
R1 should be a 10-8. Al was more active but still landed less strikes in all 3 rounds. That said, Masvidal shouldn't have taken his foot off the gas and almost appeared to coast the 3rd, assuming he was on his way to a decision victory.

I not sure a good punch and some ground and pound makes it a 10-8. But hey - that's why Dana says 'never leave it in the hands of the judges'.

Last saturdays card was ok, must admit I had Masvidal winning too but he took round 2 off and thats always risky. Chad looked impressive, could be a fun fight with Conor coming up. Was a bit annoyed we only got to see the main card on BT sport, not sure why no prelims. Also, no idea why but this saturdays card is at 11pm on Pick tv (sky channel 152). Only 2 hours and not live so I'm guessing only the 4 fights on the main card. Why has BT sport lost this card is it because its a new area (Poland)? Hope we get back to the full live cards soon. Looking forward to Manuwa and JoJo fighting though.

Poorly done on pick TV, if you recorded it for the 2 hours stated, you will have watched a bit of the 1st round of the main event before the recording finished.

It doesn't seem live so they should have known the length of the fights.

Totally agree, it ran over almost 30 mins. I recorded the program scheduled after the fight program as i've been burned by tv scheduling before. I got to see the whole Crocop fight. As you say pretty poor as the card was recorded so they should have scheduled it for sufficuent time for all 4 fights. Back onto BT sport HD live next weekend with prelims and main card thankfully.

As for the actual results - I expected (or wanted more) from Manua, Crocop looked.... not good, but he didn't stink the place up. Shame about Jo C as well....

Not watched the prelims yet but the main card was a bit of a snoozer.

I was cornering Saturday so only got home in time to see the main event which i thought was decent, vicious elbows from CroCop and the mount escape into heel hook attempt was nice too.

Leon Edwards (who i lost to back in 2009ish when he was an amateur) got an 8 second KO on the prelims and Stevie Ray also won his debut after taking the fight on late notice. Shame Jo lost, she's a real talent though and will be around the top of that division for a while

On an a far more grass routes MMA level, I'm sick of going to uk shows and watching "independent fighters" (not affiliated to a gym) getting smashed in undr 30 seconds it's a waste of time for the fighters that have trained and cut weight, also it's a big health n safety risk as they're clueless and will end up getting seriously hurt which could set the sport back a long way

I'm cornering again at BAMMA on the 25th (have had to switch to more coaching whilst i can't compete due to injury) which I'm looking forward to, i think it's being recorded for TV, maybe channel 5? anyway our fighter 'Harry Marple' should get some decent exposure off it, he's worth looking out for, went 11-0 as an amteur and is 1-0 so far as a pro

Great. How long after the event would C5 air it?

How are you guys watching the prelims? fight pass? I really hope JoJo can work on the areas she needs to as I really like her and her fighting style. She clearly needs work on her BJJ but I also think her head movement/boxing could improve as she seemed to be out boxed by her opponent. Pleased for Crocop too. Looking forward to Rockhold v Machida, very tough to call!

What channel(s) are they on - do you know?

Fight night tonight - The Dragon Vs Rockhold.... as much as I like Dragon, I think he's going down.
