Chad was absolutely fked. I know he 'stays in match shape all year round' but have to wonder if he'd have been a better fight if he'd have had longer to prepare.

Connor's ground game seemed fine, he actually tired Chad from his ceaseless moves. Did you see his neck when he wriggled out?? Thought he was going to break it hehe

Loved hearing Connor call him a pussy for sticking his fingers in his face hehe bring on Jose at Dublin, that'll be one to attend if it happens!

Vegas will be used for the title fight apparently.

Chad only lost because he was gassed as he didnt have a full camp. He was dominating the fight and was in control.

Sources are saying he was half way through shooting a hunting documentary when he got the call.

Aldo steps in and wrecks Conor. I'd put my house on it.

Also lets be honest, mendes went 5 rounds with aldo at a relentless pace. Are we going to pretend that the 2 weeks preparation wasnt a the reason why mendes' cardio gave out?

What and nothing to do with being kicked in the body? Watch the fight again, Connor came out at the bell and put a spinning kick into Mendez's body that would have put a Rhino down, he was catching his breath from then on.

I'm not saying Mendez was 100% prepared and I agree he could have won (probably on points) had it not been stopped (the timing of the stoppage was very unfortunate) but don't underestimate how hard Connor Mcgregor hits and kicks and the distance and angles he can do it from.

Spot on.

People are very quick to overlook body work but anyone who has caught a well timed dig to the body will tell you it's debilitating.

I don't know enough about the training and shape these guys keep themselves in, but would 3 rounds at short notice be a huge ask for most of them? I would have assumed if anything, conditioning and short prep time would show in Rd's 4/5

I agree with others, Conor wanted to target the body from the off to eliminate some of the explosive power of Chad, from there he could deal better and pick him off.

Just a well planned fight IMO.

Yeah Dana said Conor v Aldo will almost certainly be in Vegas. But if Conor wins that fight, they will let him have his first defence of the proper title in Croke Park.

At the end of that fight you could tell something had broken in his face, he sort of checked his nose with his glove and just took a knee. fkin hell... I love combat sports and I think consenting adults should be able to do whatever they like (they will anyway) and I've heard Rory speak, he's a bright young man (let's hope that doesn't change) but that nose... Jeeesus.

The kind of fight that is so exciting to watch, both men wanting to leave it all on the line and find out who is better/ stronger/ more prepared. The kind of fight I want to see Connor go through.

Finally managed to catch up with the main card - all cracking fights. Just the prelims to go!

It seems the question 'what would happen when Connor is properly hit' has been answered. Can't wait for Connor-Aldo.
