I could have got some free tickets to UFC London but the card is so crap that i'm not going to bother going.

I don't get why NYC got such a stacked card and the best we can get in London is Jimi Manuwa as a main event. Even the other fight nights have been more interesting than this.

The last fight night happened a few days ago, so can talk about it. A good card, some interesting fights, and Victor knows his time is over. One last pay day fight between him and Anderson, time to ride into the sunset I say.

Kelvim is looking great at the weight.

Two more fights cancelled due to weight issues. Time for the UFC to grasp the nettle....

Jimmy M - wow. Power. I want to see him and rumble fight....

Good to see some great performances from some British stars coming up there. This dude looked ridiculous though.
Manua looked good to, good precision.

MMA at this level is moving and changing so quickly as a sport, these guys like Barbosa are now more than just brawlers and fighters not only are they very high level athletes who have full concentration for 25 minutes they're also getting very well schooled and experienced cornering too... You won't get away with trying the same lame single leg take downs more than a few times, it's why more and more high level bouts are staying on the feet for at least the first half of the fight, to the point it's getting very dangerous going for those take downs, we saw what happened to Cyborg.

Couldn't agree more.
The fact that most coaches are watching tape even more to prepare for an opponent, getting certain drills into preparation... This was something we were doing at The Workplace Gym when I was there (a few moons ago now). I could ape certain moves very well, thus great training for the fighter being prepped.

The fighter IQ is also improving, the quality of the cornering also (except Edmund T of course). Throw into that the fact you now have to be a world champion at a certain discipline to have an edge in that area.

Now if the UFC can actually get Seam Shelby firing on all cylinders and a grip on the weight issue, we could see some amazing fights.

But right now, we need to see a retiring of the old guard. Bisping Vs GSP then retire both. Silva Vs Belfort, then retire both.

New blood with a much more rounded game needs to come through properly.

Oh, and UFC, FFS stop dicking around with interim titles. Also stop dicking around with the wifebeater Vs McNugget fight. Don't care - let's get back to MMA.

Did you hear Manua call out Haye in his post fight interview. Trying to ride on someone's coat tails?

I Went saturday and it was good event. Probably the best I've been to tbh!

Great atmosphere, descent wins mainly.

Agree with above re. MMA/fighters changing, totally.

Cormier takes everything off and misses weight by 1.2lbs. Walks out of the room and comes back 2 mins later and then makes weight and Johnson comes in 1.2lb under weight. It looked rather dodgy what he was doing on the scales the second time, or they messed with the scales.

Johnson looking in good shape though.

Haven't caught up for a few events so.....

Still fairly bored with ladies MMA. Rumble fought the wrong fight. DC as a dick - just don't like him. Cody 'No Love' is not helping the public perception that fighters are as dumb as a box of rocks. DC also seems to be ducking Jimmy Manuwa? Might Mouse is ASTONISHING.

Still really enjoying the Dana White - Looking For A Fight series on Youtube.

Think that's it.... I'm not feeling quite a few of the match-ups still. Sean Shelby still finding his feet?

Thoughts on the latest UFC...

I am REALLY unimpressed with the cut men. Apparently incapable of using cut sticks and irons together???
Also massively unimpressed with the director that night - if a ref's back comes into shot, then move. Don't wait three seconds.
The undercard was AMAZING.
I thought Frankie would be on the retirement scrapheap of life, not delivering a brutal beatdown.
Joanna J..... Wow.
Stipe - if Cain can't come back, then who will touch him for a few years?
They really need to sort the rules out and do a blanket rule set.

Anik is REALLY fking irritating.
