Luca Toni would be a good signing for your boys. Not an iron, but they are local to me wink

And when we get Gudjohnssen too we'll be laughing! It'll be nice to have someone up front that can be greedy and take shots and then Cole can mop up all the rebounds biggrin

We'll get one or the other not both (Gudjohnson / Luca Toni). Personally i'd prefer Gudjohnson. I am quite concerned that every signing by so far bar Radistan Kovac has been a loan signing - although we haven't sold anyone so far which is nice. I'd like to keep Upson, but if Man City fail to sign Lescott i think that's who they'll turn their attentions to.

Lucas Neil can clear off. It was only towards the end of last season that he started to show the player that we hoped to sign and he only did that to put himself in the shop window.

We'll be alright this season, i think top ten or there abouts. Would be nice to beat wolves 2-0 on the first day of the season! We'll see...

I for one am not confident about this season. I'm not too scared of relegation (there are a few teams who look crap, such as Portsmouth), but the striker problem is worrying me a lot. We need Jimenez to have a good first season too, and hold on to Matty Upson if we can.

If Eidur Gudjohnsson comes I'll be over the moon.

Bout time this thread appeared. Come on you Irons.

Good start that, wasn`t looking forward to going to Wolves` first game back in the Premier League. Could have a been one of those famous West Ham nightmares. Well done GZ.

PS When the fking hell is Dean Ashton gonna actually play?

Excellent start to the season that, personally didn't expect too get much out of that one so 2-0 a top result.

Several decent saves from Green, cracking strike from Nobes, decent finish from set play from Upson. Collison or Jiminez should've made it three though - pity, would've been top biggrin

Surprise for me - Faubert, looked decent for most of the game.

Bring on the spuds next week.

Were you guys all watching on ATDHE? hehe

Faubert was ok. We still need better performances from him. And from Spector too, but I won't criticise him too much as he came on when everyone else was already used to the match speed.

Would have been great if Jimenez had scored (or Collison for that matter - what a chance!), but I'll happily take the win. We still need more up front but all in all I was very happy with the performance.

COME ON YOU IRONS!!!

Have heard that he isn't even training yet but that could of course be utter nonsense (although it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest)

Well done West Ham i guess, I thought you'd beat us and you did.

Can any West ham fans sum up the Wolves performance please?

I didn't see all the match but I probably caught around an hour of it.

You looked pretty good going forwards. We were certainly fortunate to escape with a clean sheet. Ebanks-Blake was put through in the second half and should have scored and you had some long range shots which nearly caught Rob Green out. Although I would say that because every time the ball gets near our goal West Ham fans end up touching cloth...

Defensively you weren't so great, and the defending was certainly poor for our second goal, but I don't think the problems are incurable. I've seen some headlines saying we completely outplayed you, but I really don't think that's fair. And of course there are loads of journalists using the old "hammered" pun, even though it's inaccurate. If Mancienne gets a bit more experience and you get Iwelumo and Doyle back from injury I wouldn't be too worried if I were you.

I have assumed you are a Wolves fan and therefore have referred to Wolves as "you" and West Ham as "us/we" throughout. Apologies if I assumed wrong!

At the moment I'd be surprised if he turns out for us again. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong though.

I'm not too keen on Ashton, wouldn't mind seeing him leave if we get Gudjohnsen in to replace him. Cracker from Noble on Saturday, more of that this season please biggrin

Also a bit worrying that Upson admitted he may have to be sold!
