Funnily enough, up until Googling a few moments ago I was genuinely under the impression that Lancaster and Lancashire were separate but similarly named places. I mean, I knew Lancashire was a county but it hadn't occurred to me that it was because Lancaster was in it. But then, I'm Scotch so know nada about English counties...

I know-it makes no sense at all as I'm well aware of the ones you list above. I suspect it's probably down to having never actually come across Lancaster in books, the media or seemingly anything ever. Is it famous for anything (other than bing named after a plane)?
