Bloody Hell! What a fight and what a fantastic performance. Still shaking.

I wanted Burns to do it but felt from the way Mitchell looked on the walk in that he'd have too much spite etc. Also thought he might catch Burns when he was over winging those rights but what an awesome performance. Pretty much on a par with Froch V Bute imho.

Actually, that's not too bad an analogy at all...

i'll tell you what, ricky burns looked good didn't he?? i couldn't work out how he looked so big next to mitchell, especially when you think it's only a couple of fights ago that burns came up a weight himself.

while i thought he would win i didn't think carl frampton would go through molitor that easily.very impressive stuff.

sad news about corrie sanders.very underestimated fighter who punched like a mule kick with that left hand.47 is no age and going out that way at the hands of some cowardly scumbag is just awful

i'm interested to see what kostya tzsyu brings to the table as povetkin's new trainer.for someone who had so much potential when he came over from the amateurs he has done fk all as a pro.the blatant ducking of wladimir was embarrasing.he should turn his attention away from sure fire wins like rahman and at least take apunt at defending against the new breed like pulev, boytsov and the rest of them.i'd like to see him in there with a fully fit helenius.povetkin has aguably got a better skill base than nearly all the other heavyweights fighting today,it' just a shame he hasn't grown a pair yet

Ricky Hatton will come out of retirement with a fight against former WBA champion Vyacheslav Senchenko in Manchester on 24 November.

That's quite an ambitious first opponent really, but I can see where he's coming from. He's obviously not coming back to scrap around at the domestic level and if a rematch with Malignaggi is his target, he's probably figuring that if he can't deal with the guy Malignaggi outclassed to win the world title, there's not much point in aiming any higher...

Khan v Carlos Molina. Pathetic mismatch designed to let Khan make a "comeback". I'm on of his biggest fans, but I'm losing faith quickly.

Well, well done Kosta! Turned Povetkin into the hardest punching heavyweight in the history of sport....

... or else Rahman has well and truly 'gone'.smile

To be fair though, that was the best I've seen Povetkin, sharp, crisp and fast and he 'went for it' when he saw a sniff of a chance. Let's hope it's the shape of things to come. Pulev next?

A very good performance and not his fault the guy put in front of him is past it and paying the price for so definitively not having lived the life. For them to complement him on how much better shape he was in shows (a) just how awful he was lately and (b) how the current era has led to such low expectations of a hwt boxer's shape and fitness. Stop. Now.

definately an improvement in the aggression stakes......but the opponent was never going to give much back.rahman was fked years ago and wasn't that good to begin with!!

pulev looked good but again, the opponent was wk.ustinov is as bad as they come..

i don't know wether i'm missing something but i've seen the saurland wonder kid jack culcay fight three times now and i'm not bowled over.he seems to look ok then pull a good stoppage out of the bag.i'm puzzled as to the emphasis kalle is putting on this guy.

anyone fancy pulev v. helenius?? i know this fight makes him mandatory for wlad but i think he gets mullered at this stage.he needs another few tougher fights first.

interesting interview with david price in the boxing monhly.he has pretty much sparred everyone as a klitschko clone but rates pulev as the best of the bunch.states that in some spars he got the better of it but on other days pulev was edging things.nice refreshing honesty and a pro match up i'd love to see as well!

one disappointment for me recently was hearing that tyson fury tured down a challenge from deontay wilder.i wsh this guy would fight someone of note rather than bleat a lot then back outof challenges and fight people like maddalone

I'd fancy a Pulev Price fight having read that article by Steve Lillis. Sounds like it would be a difficult one, esp. in the life and death of a real match without headguards and with smaller gloves, so maybe rushing it a bit?

Fury now making noises about fighting David Haye! Probably knows it will never happen so safe to shout out. He'd get killed!

Also see that the uncle has only fined Chavez Jr $10,000 and told him to go to (well, sign the visitors' book?) rehab after another drug bust. When will they actually test him for PEDs I wonder?

My thoughts exactly - they said Rahman was two stone heavier in his previous fight...he must have looked like a photo negative of the Michelin Man!

When he steps up his workrate he looks quite impressive but seems to spend a bit too much time sizing up his opponent (or taking a breather!)...reminds me a bit of Felix Sturm in that respect. Maybe that's what Sauerland sees in him...get him a contract with Calvin Klein and they've got a ready-made replacement!
