Yea something is busted for sure. Bunce is talking about a rematch...
Brave show from Maccarinelli, though those ringside physicians needed fking shooting. The fighter will invariably want to carry on fighting; the corner should take care of their man but will want to give him every chance, especially in a title fight...so the doctors are there to provide a detached consideration of the condition of the fighter. To give the opinion, twice, that Maccarinelli could see out of that eye...well, they clearly needed another bldy doctor there to check the eyesight of those checking Enzo's eyes...Even with the injury, I thought Enzo gave a decent account of himself - I think I saw his legs stiffen once but apart from that didn't look in any major difficulties, and three or four times gave Braehmer something to think about. I'd say he was worthy of a re-match but I'd be surprised if it happened. Braehmer isn't getting any younger and I can't see a second fight with Maccarinelli providing him with the kind of payday that would send him comfortably into retirement. Last night's fight would have added to the legacy (a win against another former world champion) but a re-match won't add anything more.
Personally, I'd have thought Hopkins would be the way forward as a big unification fight (if he comes through against Shumenov) in the autumn. Even if Hopkins loses, a fight with Braehmer could still be built up as another chance for Hopkins to re-write the record books, given that were he to win (ignoring the WBA 'regular'/'super' champion nonsense), it should see Hopkins as reigning champion when he turns 50. For both men, I'd have thought that fight would be a more attractive option than going in with bangers like Kovalev or Stevenson (though both are experienced and savvy enough to be able to look after themselves regardless of opponent).
Any predictions for Bradley vs Pacquiao this Saturday night?
I think the first fight was much closer than many fans make out but Pacquiao should have left the ring as the winner by a clear 2 rounds. It was close, but definitely a robbery.
Since then, Pacquiao obviously got KO'd by Marquez but was looking great until he jumped into that perfectly timed right hand. Then he fought Rios in his comeback fight and looked great if a little tentative but let's not forget that Rios was little more than a punching bag due to there being a huge golf in class.
With regards to Bradley, he went in to a near life and death war with Provodnikov and very nearly got beaten. His iron chin and iron will saved him from defeat that night. Then he fought Marquez and outboxed him in a very measured and professional manner that showed none of the gung-ho attitude that got him into trouble against Provodnikov.
My prediction?
Well, I definitely think that Pacquiao has lost a step since he beat the likes of Dela Hoya, Hatton and Cotto but it appears to be more of a mental block then anything. Perhaps the only fighter that can light the fire within him again is Mayweather? He's still a very live dog in this fight and is rightfully the favourite but I can't help but feel that Bradley is going to win a close fight. I think he'll fight from out of range and will justifiably get the nod.
But ignoring all that for a moment, I had a dream that Pacman KO'd Bradley in the 6th so here's to hoping for that!

Im the same really; I desperately want Manny to win but Ive got a horrible feeling that Bradley is approaching his peak and Manny peaked around 5 years ago.
Its on Boxnation as already said. Apparently the coverage begins at 0200hrs but the telegraph says the fight will likely start at 0400hrs
Anyone confirm either way? I'm either staying up late or getting up early....
C'mon Manny!!!

I've read it is likely to start around 10.30-11pm Eastern time, which I think is 5hrs behind us. I'm off to bed now with the alarm set for 3am...Its on Boxnation as already said. Apparently the coverage begins at 0200hrs but the telegraph says the fight will likely start at 0400hrs

Not really sure what Bradley is playing at. It's almost as if winning the fight is coincidental to what he's trying to do in there. Glorious victory or glorious failure...doesn't seem to make much of a difference to him. Odd...
It is one he will look back on and regret that he didn't try something different.Edited by Yiliterate on Sunday 13th April 05:57
