Also remember how Mr Eubanks Snr used to stand & pose to get a breather - Rock soild chin - heavy puncher - fast hands - No real Stamina
Are you talking about a different Eubank than the one I'm thinking of? Chris had quite a few fights go the distance (winning and losing them).

I think his standing and posing was more about standing and posing than getting a breather and Frank Bruno can do no wrong in my eyes, I don't think I ever saw him tire through lack of fitness just the constant punches to the head that used to halt his progress.

...and quite often against the type of fighter who didn't generally allow opponents to have breathers; Benn, Watson, Collins, Calzaghe...

I see Eubank Jnr has beend rafted onto the Boxnation card on Saturday against a yet un-named opponent... Anyone know who it is?

Also Eubank Jnr and Snr failed to turn up for a press conference with FW and BJS.... Pretty unprofessional

I like Eubank Jnr but he might need to qualify his arrogance a bit - he had a spat on Twitter with Gavin Ress (ex world champ Gavin Rees) which I thought was a bit disrespectful

In-depth David Haye interview here:

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/others/...

I know it won't happen but the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see him return back at Cruiserweight now that Cleverly and Bellew are in the division. IMO, there could be some spectacular battles between those three; I'd be more excited at the prospect of those match-ups than him going after Stiverne, a re-match with Wlad or even Fury (and I have a feeling that his preference would be to target Heavyweights of a similar size to himself unless there is a very good incentive to go for a giant, so Wilder, Price or, a bit further down the line, Joshua probably won't be particularly high on his 'want list'). Either way, it'll be intriguing to see how much impact the injury has had on that right cross of his...

Someone told me he'd gone vegan and I didn't believe it, fair play to him.

He's lucky I guess that Adam Booth will always be there for him and give him priority, but I think he's right to say he has some people to win over, personally I can't see him getting back to winning a world title and given we have possibly 3 world level heavyweights coming through and little in the way of competition out there I doubt he's going to be top box office again... But you know that's just my opinion, he's certainly nicer than Fury and Chisora and seems to be brighter than Price.

An unusually frank interview with a complicated man (the account of his career by his friend, "Making Haye" is equally frank, warts and all, and an excellent insight into him). I really, really hope he can pull it off before he retires, the last period at heavyweight has only given glimpses of what he might have achieved barring the injuries. The "we'll (only) miss him when he's gone" type.

Took Buglioni to the 8th so that provides some form of yardstick I suppose...but there again, after Buglioni lost a couple of months back, not really sure of his level either...

Everyone tires Fred, ofcourse Frank was fit just bulked up to much, big strain on cardiovascular system when in the later rounds etc.

I remember evening training about 26yrs ago, we were circuit training, I used to love it, a lot of the guys wanted to get in the ring sparring & skip the C/Training but I always made sure I had my C/training sorted 1st, so I thought I was a "Fit Boy".
This particular evening the numbers were made up with two newcomers, a 45yr old lady & her 15 yr old Girl guide daughter, they wiped the floor with all of us & me being a twit really went for it to keep up with them & I ended up outside head spinning vommiting----handed on a plate LOL.

That's a very tough fight for Brook. It will tell us a lot about him, that's for sure.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see Brook winning

Are you talking about a different Ali than the one I'm thinking of? Muhammad had quite a few times where he was a target some when he wanted to be (Foreman) some where he did not want to be Norton ,Frazier,

Ernie Shavers devastating puncher but could never be classed as Fast London..

This is brilliant to me as it shows Ali at his best but also shows what heart Wepner had knowing he was severly out classed ...amazing.

I wasn't making some overall assessment of his career...just posted up a clip I saw that thought was pretty cool.

Great display from Cotto, but it really looked like the years and the injuries had caught up with Martinez. At times, his movement just looked painful, like he was in his late fifties or he'd been hitting the Special Brew pretty hard - a mixture of his damaged knees and being dropped several times in the first. All credit then to him for hanging in as long as he did. Just a pity it wasn't one of our guys in the opposite corner when Father Time finally caught up with Martinez.

On the same card, there was a tremendous win for Andy Lee. He too was dropped heavily in the first and seemed to be up against it, but retained his composure despite the pressure and unleashed a fantastic short right off the ropes in the fifth...one of those shots where knew he'd won the instant he connected. Really hope he can work his way to a world title but think that will be a very tall order until Mayweather and Alvarez officially leave the Light Middleweight division...

Did anyone else see the IBF Bantamweight title fight between Stuart Hall and Paul Butler? Absolutely cracking fight! Thought it was close contest and really admired the resolve of Hall to battle his way back into it, but Butler looked real class, even if he doesn't quite look like he's grown into the weight yet. I think I'd still fancy Jamie McDonnell if they were to fight tomorrow, primarily because of his strength in the second half of the fight, but give it another year or two and Butler I reckon will be an absolute world-beater.

Earlier on, David Price looked good and got precious rounds under his belt in a points win over 10 rounds (only saw the last 90 seconds myself though!) while Eubank flipped between looking brilliant and looking a berk so frequently I lost count. All in all, a really good Saturday night!!!
